| Junior Member | So, as of right now, I have an interview, and my CFII and MEI (both in a twin) training all scheduled for next week, and I'm trying to figure out whether or not to keep it that way. On one hand, if the interview doesn't work out (which I'm assuming going into it that it won't) I'll get an immediate raise at my flight school. Of course, we don't have a multi ton instruct in, but I'll have it in case opportunities pop up, which they seem to do when you're hanging out at the airport, which I seem to do a lot more of than flying ![]() On the other hand, in the event that I am offered the job and I accept it, and because we don't have a multi to teach in (and the -II will be in a twin, requiring me to do a single add on) the $$$$ could be better spent towards knocking out the last 6 or 7 classes I need for my degree. The other considerations are I might be close to spent come interview day - which I assume nerves will take care of - and those days I'm not at work I'm not flying and getting paid, although right now I've only got 2 lessons scheduled (I'm off Tue/Wed) which prompted this whole job search in the first place. Curious to see WWJCD? |

| Old Skool | You can do it. Just have to tell yourself you can. If you doubt your ability, then of course you may end up not being successful. Rock out with your. . . |

| Senior Member | the -II is not tied to class, only category, ie airplane with no regard to single/multi engine land/sea. Having the II on your instructor cert will allow you to instruct instruments in any airplane listed on your pilot cert, so if you have airplane single-engine land and multi engine land, the II will allow you to instruct instruments in both, regardless of which airplane the checkride is conducted in. |

| casey is correct. Call your local FSDO and speak with an Inspector, they will confirm. Sounds like you could win a bet with your Chief.

| Where are you interviewing? The falcon has been keeping me very busy but I might pickup a couple of pc12 trips next week. Might see you at FCI if you are around. |

| Why do the CFII ride in a twin? Who is your interview with? |

| Junior Member | Both are at OS Aviation. I was going there for my MEI originally, in my quest for multi time. Oscar offered to throw in the -II training for no additional cost. I don't even know if they have a single. (The DE is giving me a 2 for 1.5 deal on the checkrides). I figured about 10 hours of multi, plus the other two instructor ratings, all for $1700 sounded like a fair deal... Interview is with an East Coast US carrier exclusively operating a fleet of Dash 8's... Derek - I'll be around the latter part of the week, as in Friday. I'll look out for 2HS. |

| After my CMEL check today, we flew over to Asheboro and used an Alarus for theSingle Engine portion. It belongs to another school though so I am not sure that Oscar really likes to spend alot of time in it, opting for most training in his Twin Comanche.
