| Hey, I've never flown out of Princeton Airport, but every time I've driven past there seems to have been some sort of bizjet etc landing. You might want to try Somerville or the likes, as the commute might be shorter too, route 1 can get really really annoying... |

Edit: I just re-read your post, I guess you were looking for information on the flightschool not the airport itself. I don't know anything about them, sorry. Alex.

| Junior Member | since you're in woodbridge, which isnt really that far on the parkway to Caldwell, have you tried looking at any of the schools there? I am going to a Part 141 there, the instructor I use is on this forum. Their mx program is top notch. Haven't seen a plane down yet |

| Old Skool | Absolutely. This is what I did from one Jersey boy to another. Grew up in Toms River, went to Rutgers played football there, I can not emphasize this enough but...GET YOUR COLLEGE DEGREE. Graduated in 2005. During my senior year at college, flew at a FBO at KBLM Eagles View. Had a great instructor that got me all my ratings in 13 months. Instructed for a summer, ended up at Colgan Air in October 2005 where I am a Captain today. If I were you, I would go to Caldwell or where other Jetcareers users are at. By the way GET YOUR COLLEGE DEGREE, mine was in political science and history, get it in something outside of aviation. Any more questions? Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any.

I deffinetly plan on going to college, a matter afact Vaughn College of Aeronautics for a double major in Airport/Airline Management. I am in my junior yer and next year I have two AP clases lined up AP Macroeconomics(I love History/Geography) and AP Environmental Science. For me though right now, my major issues are Transportation, and Money. My birthday is not until July so Driving is out, and as for money I DO NOT want to spend any more that say 9 grand. I am preety confident in my flying skills as far as FSX goes . Seriously though I know I am thinking too far ahead but I know that it should not take me more than 60 hours to get my PPL. HOPEFULLY. I have no problem going to Caldwell but it is just getting there. Are there any JCers at Schools closer to Woodbridge? or can I take the train to Caldwell? Man I feel like I between two bricks right now![]()

| I looked into them when I was choosing my flight school and ended up at another FBO with some life time CFI's. When I talked to them they could not get me on the schedule for 2 weeks for my intro flight, not because they were too busy, but they did not have many instructors. Also, I have flown in/over there a few times on less than perfect days and their planes were grounded. One time they even asked us why we were flying with such a cross wind, 15kts. I talked to some people who flew there and they said it was a good place. I just wanted to fly in real situations that I will face when flying alone. Winds are not always below 5kts or directly down the runway. |

| Why don't you check out Linden Airport? It's right next to woodbridge. It's also my hometown. |

| Junior Member | I think they are on par with any other school out there. I looked at alot of schools prior to choosing century and I don't regret it at all. There are a few other FBOs there, and from talk on the ramp, I chose the best one on the field. Remember that you can always take a bus out there. There are a few buses that run to a dunkin donuts that is in the area, and they pick you up and drop you off. They offered to do that for me when I had car problems. Take the train to Newark Penn station and take a bus from there. |

| just one thing you might want to consider, the airport at princeton is about three miles north of the train station on route 206...i'm not sure how pleasant of a walk that would be or if any busses run up there |

| Junior Member | This kind of reminds me, if you do train in Princeton, have you thought about doing the associates program through mercer county college? I know you're in middlesex, but sense middlesex doesnt offer the program, you pay county resident rate. It's something to look into. Depending on where I go after I get my CFI, i may be taking some courses there or at Morris, that also offers the program. |

| Princeton has some instructors that want to go out of their way to help you, which really means them making flight hours and a paycheck....but their airplanes are crappy, and staff who handles scheduling and other airport stuff I think are retarded. My suggestion. If you have tons of money and nothing to do with it, use Solberg Aviation. they have nice airplanes, with a small airport setting and great staff. although its a part 61 program you wont get any loans for this type of school. If you are lacking the money, use Century Air. They are certified by Sallie May, and a very profesional school. Career orientated fight school, and worht the time and money. You will be around profesional pilots, and fly in busy class D airport (Tower). Mercer county college has an OK flight degree that you can transfer to some four year schools, but its all the way in Trenton, but that place can be slow, or fast depending on you as the student, how many instructors they have, and if their planes actualy work. MY suggestion, is stay away from Princeton, look into Mercer College, and Century Air, Solberg is better the Princeton and alot closer to woodbridge. |

, I went on the Solberg website and it said that the city was trying to take the feild away soo I don't want any uncertainty about my flight training location. Where do you do your flight training btw? Century Air looks vey good but I do not drive alone yett (16 years old, 17 july) soo is there any way I could take Mass Transit there?
