Default How long does it take to get a PRIA copy

I'm about to fax my request. Just wondering when I will be able to see this fabulous document.

I believe the information must be furnished to the requestor within 30 days. (Although, if you are simply requesting records for your own purpose, I think it falls under the FOIA, not PRIA. Therefore, the max response time may be different.) Either way, it's never taken more than a couple of weeks in my experience.

From what I saw on the FAA's website, you can request your own under the Privacy Act or the FOIA. It said 20 days, but I'm hoping for sooner.

Unless you've had an FAA investigated accident or an action against your certificates, the results will be less than exciting. They'll simply tell you what ratings you have.

Well, with some of the scumbags I've worked for in aviation, I feel that there may be a slight chance for untruths.

The FAA will only provide you with information on FAA investigated stuff. To my knowledge, there is no public database on employer-related records. PRIA requests to previous employers are made by your prospective employer directly to your previous employer. Although PRIA provides guidelines on the information they are required to provide, I do not believe the FAA is privy to this information unless it involved a federal investigation. Typically PRIA requests are only made to part 121 or 135 carriers, not part 91 operations.

Does that ease your mind a bit?
