Default What do you do to maintain your health?

Knowing that pretty much anything not "normal" can result in a failure of getting your medical, what do you guys do to maintain your health to make sure you don't end up on the streets?

I try to alternate between Hardee's, Arby's and Taco Bell for dinner. For breakfast I do Kripsy Kreme with O.J. and for a healthy snack I have a Slim Fast. In the plane I usually bring some apples, since they pep you up better than coffee and thrown my core's out the window imagining the carnage I cause below.
Oh, and I switched from cigarettes to cigars and went from whiskey to red wine.

I just drink Mountain Dew and eat donuts. Dropped 20 pounds that way. Gone from 180lbs with 5% body fat to 160lbs with a 25% body fat. Absolutely the way to go.

Honestly though I walk 30min to an hour on the treadmill 3-4 days a week

For me to maintain the health I want, I go to the gym 4-5 days a week. Supplements I take are 4000 to 6000mg of Vitamin C, 3600mg of fish oil with Omega 3, 15g of BCAA (type of amino acid) mulit-vitamin and 4-5 protein shakes a day at 60g of protein per serving

Well to tell you the truth I do work out and try and watch what I eat. I also am a firefighter so its kinda important. Anyway as long as you do exercise you should be fine. I have to take my medical soon and I asked the same questions as far as, how demanding is the test. I was told the medical is not that bad. Also that the FAA uses it to try and keep piolts healthy.

Almost looks like a natural Bodybuilder's supplement schedule... 300g of protein above your natural intake? The rule of thumb for bulking is 2g/lb of bodyweight so I am guessing with a regular diet and these protein shakes you don't have a problem putting on the mass...? Everybody is different!

Personally I lift weights 4-5 times a week, run and/or bike at least 30min 3-4X a week, limit drinking alcohol to 2 nights a week (as a max) and have a protein shake every day. The multivitamin and fish oil supplementation is a daily thing. I try to avoid fried foods although every once and a while some fats in the diet can really help the energy level. Workouts and diets (especially on the road) are rarely convenient but taking the time to workout and spending the extra few bucks on a salad with grilled chicken vs. Mcd's makes me feel better and "in theory" is much better for the body.

Yes, correct I am a hard gainer. Also the diet I listed is for putting on size. I too also avoid all fried foods and fatty foods. I go with alot of chicken, pasta, vegtable. I find if I prepare the food the night before that works best for me so I can have 4 or 5 container to carry around with me through out the day. Also, in the end it is MUCH cheaper the going to a SubWay or such

Run 3-4 times a week for 1hr (on the treadmill) usually lift for 45 minutes or so after running.

Try to watch what I eat but don't always do that great.

I used to know what healthy was, but then everything did a 180. In a relationship, working nights, going to college, flight training, sleeping only 3-6 hours / day, eating at every fast food joint you can name because I'm always on the road...

Man, I really have to re-evaluate my "activities"
