| Old Skool | So I had to answer the post above.... Anyways its because Jtrain and Seggy just have some of the prettiest legs out there... man those two guys make me never wanting to leave this place..... Anyways quick update waiting for IOE.... as you can tell I need to get assigned something fast due to my lack of being able to entertain myself and therefore postingon JC.... Always fun! Anyways I had to add some humor to the above close thread..... We all do need to remember we do have a lot of fun here in the end through all of our bickering.... Lets not alawys write home about it! OMG its turning into FLIGHT INFO! far from it! We seem to always keep it in shape (and if not an older member will put us back on track)! |

| Old Skool | To many to mention but... Jetcareers has given me lifelong friends in the industry that I love. Jetcareers, got me a Legacy interview in less than four years from the time I started flying.

| Old Skool | I truly adhere to the principles of JC, as I'm sure others do. I have hooked someone up big time, and would do it for others as well. |

![]() I've learned quite a bit in my short time here, and most of it is in a pretty professional manner. I hope to stick around for a while and be able to return the favor eventually.

| I don't post much, but once I read this question I had to. I am at jetcareers because 4 years ago I was considering becoming a pro pilot and through searching the internet I stumbled upon this site. I lurked around for a while before I decided to take the plunge and join. I am quite happy that I did. Now, as I said I originally joined because I was looking into the flying side of things, however in the past four years things have changed and I have since decided to head into the ATC arena. I have jetcareers to thank for this. As you can see I have posted very little during my time here, but I have learned A LOT. Not only about the industry in general, but also about what I really wanted to do in the industry. I am also here because I know very few people who share my passion for the industry and this is one of the places I go to "hang out" with other people who share that passion. I have been helped by so many people here and I hope to return the favor someday... |

| all i can say is that i wish i found JC before I made a few mistakes.... now i'm addicted. not as much as some, but i try to educate & learn. I think it drives Dani nuts with the time i spend on JC, luckily I buy her things to entertain herself ![]() Also the fact that NJC is in Vegas doesn't hurt one bit since we're in Chester about 3x a month. ![]() |

So you're not working as an FA any more. So be it! You've moved on to better things. There's your daily affirmation, babe. ![]() As for me, I came here because I thought I wanted a job in the industry. After getting the reality check from this site, I changed my mind. Now? I'm half assing my way through my ratings, and if I someday teach on the side, that'll be fine by me. The reality check provided by this site was invaluable. If I didn't get it, right now, I'd be one miserable son of a bitch but I would feel compelled to carry on because I'd have invested so much money into things. And I made a few friends along the way so I keep on coming back for that more than anything else. | |

| Old Skool | Tony, when you have kids, you do lose your identity. For example, people used to call me "Steve." Now I get called "Daddy" or "Gavin's Dad." ![]() I stumbled on JC when I was working on my instrument rating. I actually took my first flight after I got my instrument rating with a JC member to meet other JC members in Tampa. If memory serves me correctly, everyone at that lunch metting is either at a regional or another role of their choosing in the aviation field. Heck, two of us from that meeting started at our respective regionals on the same DAY. I would never have found the flight school I finished my ratings at and later instructed at if it weren't for Jetcareers. If it weren't for Don's continuously sticking to his guns (and making sense when I look back on it), I would have wound up at MAPD instead. Or worse, Gulfstream. Once I actually took a breath, listened to what others were saying, I releaised that my previous thinking might possibly be flawed. Sometimes it's more about the journey than the destination, and I'm glad I went the route I did. It doesn't work for everyone, but it worked out extremely well for me. But that's the beauty of JC. There's such a diverse group here, that you can get advice from pretty much every avenue. People tend to think that we lean towards the CFI route, but that's mainly b/c that's what most of us did. We do have guys that flew pipeline, traffic watch and banner towing. The CFIs just tend to be more vocal, I guess. After constantly talking while flying with an FAA inspector and trying to talk students down safely rather than killing us, we sometimes have a hard time shutting up. ![]() Some of my best friends, roommates and the occasional co-worker can be found right here. As far as networking goes, JC is the best thing out there. I may have never met you in my life, but if you say you're a JC'er, I'll bend over backwards to help you out. A lot of the people on this site wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing. When it came time for the regional interviews, I went straight to the people I met through here to find out what was up with the regionals I was interviewing at. XJT likes to ask questions on Mexican Jepp plates. I didn't have any, but literally FIVE MINUTES after asking for some, I had copies in my hand (thanks Bob!). I heard very, very little about Pinnacle and was nervous about going into a regional interview with little knowledge about what was going on. After about a 15 minute phone conversation with Peaknuckle, I was set. I applied at Colgan and wound up getting a mock phone interview from Seggy one night. Colgan never called, but that mock interview helped out at the interview I DID get. I was frustrated watching guys with half my time get hired at places while I got "Sorry, but if you had a CRJ type rating we'd invite you for an interview" letters. I vented here, and was reminded via PMs that it's not the end of the world, and to hang in there. That calmed me down, and two weeks later I had not one but TWO regional interviews set up. IMO, Jetcareers is THE best aviation support group you'll find. Networking, advice, shoulders to cry on, drinking buddies, roommates, lifelong friends. They're all here. I'm here b/c I want to give back to the community that gave me so much while continuing to advance myself. I know I've said this 100s of times before, but it bears mentioning again. Doug and Kristie, thanks for all the hard work you put in, and thanks for creating all of this for the rest of us. I know I wouldn't be where I am today without it.

| Because if not for JC, I probably would have gone to Mesa's pilot school 4 years ago (true story). Now, I'm just trying to help out.

| Moderator | I actually had seriously considered MAPD about 10 years ago too. You know who talked me out of it? The Eagle ORD chief pilot! He actually took the time to sit down and tell me about how spending that kind of money just wasn't necessary and told me all the same things that are heard here.

| Senior Member | I just happen to "find" this place last summer while working on my CFI. Definitely one of the best, if not THE best place for aviation discussions and topics. I've been hooked ever since.........
