Well I really mainly wanted to lurk in this thread.. however I am pretty sure its not his political view, but more the Obama's name, and religion that has him talking down about Obama. ( notice the misuse of the name, and than the calling out of his middle name) I HOPE thats not really the reason.. would be very sad if it were... but this is just my opinion and observation. | |

| I hate to ruin this thread but I wanted to echo what others have already said. As a pilot you need to educate yourself on which side of the issue candidates stand on. The whole mentality that the Republican party lowers taxes and lets you keep what you earn just simply isn't true anymore. As a pilot, most likely (or hopefully) working under a union the choice should be fairly simple if your vote is based on what will be financially beneficial. I spent the past four years studying economics. If I were a small business owner making 200-500k a year then I would probably vote differently. The whole idea of giving money back to the business so they can reinvest and grow the economy is a crock of ########. How many CEOs make over a million a year? Are they giving money back to their workers or growing the economy? NO! They went and bought 2nd and 3rd homes inflating the housing market, making it beyond the reach of many. I am beginning to rant and getting red in the face, sorry. Vote your profession! -Jason Obama and Osama comparisons only prove extreme ignorance. A sad fact attesting to the education level of some in our country. |

| Ok I am headed down to the lavatory to start a thread on "politickn". I understand what you are saying, just want to keep this thread as much on what people made for edcuational purposes. By the way, my CEO would just retire if it were not for the fact that he would no longer have free use of the company jet for whatever he wants (Usually to fly over the house in florida his wife lives at to get to his house in the bahamas where all his hoochies are).

| It's only an increase on the top marginal rate back to what it was during the Clinton years. The rate never should have been reduced in the first place.

| I think it was Winston Churchill who said something about the best argument against democracy being a 5 minute conversation with the average voter. |

| Position: Classified (by me) Airline: A Global Financial Market Years at Airline: 6 Gross Earnings: 8 figures in 2007 -------------------------------------- As far as the Obama remarks are concerned, I think it speaks to one's own education, intellectual development, integrity, ethics and character. I for one, do not approve of the mudslinging on either side of the political spectrum, but I especially do not approve of personal attacks that have nothing to do with the behavior/actions/words of another. Having said that, I am typically middle of the road on everything political because being in the middle allows me to select the best from both sides without being tied to either. Furthermore, I think it is irrational, illogical and fairly silly to think that I could possibly vote Conservative on every single issue, or Liberal on every single issue. There are times when a little of both are not only possible, but prudent and wise. So, I split my ticket often. However, this particular cycle will see my vote for Obama as I cannot possibly fathom 4 more years of the same failures and because I really do think it is time for the "old establishment" to be flushed out of Washington, or at least put in "check", as it has run wild over the past several decades and we seem to end up right back at square one every single new cycle. Change in imminent. Change is necessary. Failure to change the establishment in IMO at this junction is also dangerous. End of soapbox.

| I don't know what you're talking about. I don't remember any such comment from him. You're probably thinking of the $50k cutoff which is where his new tax credits come in. Those making under that amount actually get more money back. But those over that amount won't see a tax increase until you hit $288k.

| Very easy to do. Some drivers at my company come close to $150k/yr. Usually senior guys who get to bid the high paying runs where they only have to work 2-3 days a week for it as well.
