Well I was wanting to wait until I completed my PC before purchasing my luggage and pilot case. However after looking over some websites it sounds like Purdy Neat is the way to go. However I cannot afford to layout 300-400 just on one item at this time. So here are the options for a suitcase and I am wondering your all thoughts. I am really not wanting to drop $300 but I want others thoughts on these three. Anyone use items other the PRN. Invest in the good stuff now, and you won't have to buy another bag in a few years. A PNS rollerbag and a Scott kit bag will last far longer, saving you money in the long run. If you absolutely can not spend the $ for a PNS, go to Costco and get their rollerbag, with it's guarantee, you can take it back for a replacement when it falls apart. Do spend the $ for a decent kit bag though. The last thing you need is a cheap bag falling apart on you in a few years. Get something that's gonna last. Bill's Office Max cheapie lasted about 4 years before needing to be held together with electrical tape and a luggage strap. His Scott is over 9 years now, and looks and works the same as it did when it was new.

I've gotten lucky with the Office Max special. It's going on 2 years, and it's still going strong. That being said, I stress LUCKY. Most of the other guys in my class that said "Hey, cool case! Where did you get it?" that went out and bought them (we cleaned out that Office Max, BTW) all have broken handles or collapsed bottoms on theirs. I'm stepping up to a Luggage Works flight kit in the next couple of weeks (yay, EIC tax credit) b/c it's a bit bigger and sturdier. I bought the Costco bag, but I hate it. The wheels locked up on me after a week, and I had to jam it into the overhead bin when I packed for a 4 day. So, with my EIC tax credit last year, I got the PNT 26" (yeah the tall one). Couldn't be happier. It slides right into the overhead bin, and it's got space for days. I've packed for 5 days and still had room to spare. That, and I'm still finding little pockets in it that I didn't know existed. But, I'm easily amused that way.

Go with the Luggage Works Ballistic Nylon flight bag...it's great and you can get it for about $125. I found it on the US Airways online store and was able to order it. The $125 is after the discount when you enter in your employee #. I know you work for PSA, but give it a try... http://www.awacompanystore.com/Scrip...?idCategory=40

I have a Purdy Neat Stealth 22" and the Coyote Works Flight Case with the steel plates on the bottom. It is heavier than all get out but (so far) it is indestructible. They were both gifts… one for X-mas and the other for installing 900 sq. ft of flooring and tall base molding @ my in-laws house. I expect the Coyote Works bag to last for the next 30 years…. And in about a year I will be wishing for the side-pocket add-on. Here's my thread about it ---> I bought the one that had the "saddle bag" type straps for added durability and strength hooking it up to the roller-bag. I really like the look of it... with the silver nameplates and locks. (Brushed nickel is sooooo in right now) And my wife as already told me: NO STICKERS. (I figure that rule will last about a year) The coyote fits in the bin of the CRJ and the ERJ and -of course- in the closet of the 1900. The thing that makes this bag awesome is the stainless steel plates on the bottom. Already it's saved the bag alot of wear from evil escalators. The Purdy Neat should last for at least 10 years. (with regular replacement of the wheels) Which is what makes the bag awesome… everything is replaceable!!!!! (so if you are into zebra striped rollerblade wheels – just pop ‘em on) It also fits in the overhead of a CRJ. It's heavy, durable, and STABLE. Sure they are all expensive and as a first year FO you aren't making alot, but remember that basically these pieces of luggage are your home for the next year and beyond. Here are the places I bought from: Coyote Works Flight Case ![]() Purdy Neat Stealth 22”

+1 for the Strongbags rollaboard, and the solo/us luggage case. I've got the strongbags rollaboard and am happy with it so far. Seems really strong (ha), and I think it's lighter than the PNS that everyone else seems to get. My sim partner/friend/roommate has the us luggage case, and it looks like it will be a decent case for the money. I've seen some other guys with it who have had it for years, and they all seem to be holding up.

For any reading this- something I learned the hard way. My original 22" rollaboard had cheap wheels. I bought it for pleasure travel when I worked at Colgan and only flew day trips. First four day trip at Eagle, the wheels gave out. Protoge products are cheap and they suck. I've since purchased a Travel Pro 'Crew Six' 22" rollaboard. It's way more rugged, and the wheels are removable. ie, if they ever fail, I can just get them replaced instead of buying a whole new bag. Big money saved, later. Plus the handle extends a few inches further. Big comfort improvement.

another consideration is the gear at www.crewgear.com The 22" is $120 and has a 4 year warranty so you know come hell or high water you will get at least 4 years out of it. The flight cases come with a 3 year warranty I think. I have both and will give a pirep after they have a few more thousand miles on them

I know this thread has been dead for a few weeks, but I am also looking for my first case. I have my eye on a Korchmar catalog case. I am on the CRJ so I am looking at the 18x14x8.5 one. I am not sure if it is going to fit. The description boasts a steel internal frame, and the exterior is marvelan coated vinyl. I found it as low as $108.00 and that is right in my budget. Any suggestions?

My case - pictured above - fits like a glove in the CRJ bin... it's 18" x 13.5" x 8" if that helps. The extra 1/2" of height helps... I also have the saddle bag straps for added durability which adds a hair of thickness... (and the steel plate on the bottom) so 14" should be ok. Probably. But, don't quote me on it as I had this same problem a few months ago and waffled for awhile before I got my case. What I did was measure the bin when we went to do door pulls to make sure that the case would fit.
