They just haven't added it into their thinking. The FO chiming in reminds them of that. Now, the guys getting ticked at you for chiming in shouldn't have. Nothing wrong with the FO double checking the CA. In fact, that's part of the job description.
I guess they changed the checklist before I got here..

I always thought it went a lil' something like..

FO - "CAS - checked.... "
CA - "Clear, T/O config OK"
FO - "T/O config OK... Fuel..."
CA - "Checked.."
FO - "Checked.. Before take of checklist complete to the box...."

Or at least that is how I was "oe'd it."

Yeah, the "T/O Config Okay" got added b/c guys were getting "DING DING DING! CONFIG FLAPS!" when they tried to take off. Apparently they didn't READ the text in the CFM (or at the time it was called the FCOM II) that says as part of "CAS checked....cleared" you look to see if the "T/O Config OK" message is up......

As far as the F/O also saying T/O Config Okay, it's not a requirement. CA is the only one required to say it.

Nope we landed on the runway with only the ATIS braking action report..... like I said.... all we would have needed to do in ICT was switch to 19L which is longer. Since I'm here talking about it though we didn't end up running off the end.

That counts, though. That ATIS is derived from PIREPS. So, you did land with more than just the MU.

Kell,

I must have been tired when I wrote that response that you just wrote back to.... I meant that ALL the ATIS had was the Mu.... no braking action report from my recollection. In fact that's where the question arose because I *didn't* hear the mu value and the Captain did, so when I mentioned the length vs required he said "mu's are greater than 40" so I hit the switch to listen to it for and heard only that part.... nothing about action reports. I'm pretty sure I wasn't comfortable with it and I now wish I had insisted on taking the left since taxi time would have been identical.
