| Saw this on cnn.com... FOLSOM, Pennsylvania (AP) -- The skies won't seem especially friendly to anyone taking off from Philadelphia International Airport if they notice what a suburban couple wrote on the roof of their home. "(Expletive) U FAA," the message reads, though one letter of the profane word is substituted with an underline. Below that it is a picture of a plane with a slash through it and the words "no fly zone." Homeowner Michael Hall and his girlfriend, Michaelene Buddy, are angry that jets have been flying over their house since last month, when the Federal Aviation Administration altered departures heading out of Philadelphia. Hall says he has to sleep with earplugs. Don't Miss He said he and Buddy also were frustrated after being unable to leave a message with the FAA's noise-complaint hot line because the voice mailbox was always full. So they issued their complaint in roof sealant and 7-foot-tall letters about two weeks ago. "Just doing it made me feel better, but I'd still like to say what I wrote directly to the idiot head of the FAA," Hall told the Philadelphia Daily News for Thursday's editions. FAA spokesman Jim Peters had no comment. The flight changes are part of a massive restructuring of the airspace over the congested corridor between New York and Philadelphia. The couple's Ridley Township home is in Delaware County, southwest of Philadelphia. The county argues in a lawsuit that the FAA's environmental-impact study violated federal regulations and that the new flight paths will only marginally reduce airport delays. |

| Old Skool | These people should be more pissed about having to live in a suburb of Philly than airplanes flying over. |

| Agent Smith | We're under an approach path to PHX. I think it's pretty hott watching the airbii and boeings fly over the neighborhood to the backdrop of the McDowells. Now if it was 1970 and planes were actually loud, it'd be different.

| Old Skool | Wonder how much THAT cost. . .might be under foreclosure and no one wants to buy because of the "loud" planes. |

| That ain't Christian. ![]() ![]() Seriously though, who doesn't like airplanes? I see approaches to IND pretty well from my house; when I get to school, the gear's down. Usually not on the same aircraft though, unless I'm running late. |

| Old Skool | Well, anyone who wants to fly an approach to MKE is welcome to. We here in Milwaukee welcome those who are traveling by air. So what if the roof on final to 19R says "Welcome to Cleveland"? You're still welcome! ![]()

| I wonder if they think pilots are representatives of the FAA - it's funny because most of us feel the same way they do about them. |

| Junior Member | This actually seems to be the opposite of what usually happens... people usually buy a house near an airport and then start complaining about the noise they knew was going to be there... These people bought a house where there wasn't any noise and now there is. A valid complaint? Perhaps... but really, if you stop listening and getting pissed every time a plane flies over, after a few times you stop hearing it at all. |

| Hey there's nothing wrong with living in a suburb of Philly. Drive about 25 minutes north up 95 and you'll see what I'm talking about. Too bad they live just south of the airport.... |

When I was in 3rd grade Comair 3272 crashed in a field behind my house. It was amazing how after that crash I heard every single plane that flew overhead because I was scared #####less. After a few months all of the aircraft flying over head seemed to have 'disappeared' simply because I stopped focusing on listening for them. If people can't take the noise then don't live near an airport.

| http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=456&sid=1332452 This neighborhood is upset about the jets flying over them into KPHL. One couple even painted a sign on their roof to protest!

| I love how people think that the FAA or the airport can or will do something about noise problems. We can't and don't. Those phone numbers are nothing more than a way to appease the public. |

| I'm just going to go out on a limb and suggest that if the guy put as much effort into a career as he did into that "display", maybe they could "shack up" in a shanty a little farther from the airport. ![]() -mini |

| Junior Member | Being from Philadelphia I can really appreciate this one......A couple in Phila are mad because the FAA has apparently re routed a flight path directly over their home. Apparently they had no luck getting through to the FAA noise complaint line so they to this action to let the FAA know how they feel. Too funny ![]() ![]() Here is the link: http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news..._the_roof.html
