There will be 15 planes with 5 crews on each plane so that means 75 new FOs with probably more than 80-90% of them being new to Colgan. That leaves approximately 60 to 67 fresh minds to start talking about a union drive and what it can do to benefit the pilot group. The first class has talked about this and I believe that more than 90% of them are on board so if we can get similiar results from future classes then it should give a good push in August. With the future growth of Colgan and its potential to become very large growth in the near future there is no better time than the present to make a change.

Yeah I am hired and I will be in the Q400 January 31st class. I just wanted to know if anyone had received any training materials? I know I am getting a Fed Ex tomorrow but that is just from HR and was told that their is no training material in the Fed Ex. Mr. Colgan told me I should have gotten an email from the training dept. about some FMS stuff that I should be looking over. Any thoughts anyone? Did you Jan 31st guys get any FMS stuff yet?...

Put as much thought into the FMS trainer as you would which underwear to wear in the morning. The FMS trainer is just a dusting of an overview that teaches you a few small things about the universal FMS through "watch these 4 steps...now do those exact 4 steps...next lesson" You will learn nearly nothing that will help you with the actual class and everything you need to learn about the FMS for training you will learn at flightsafety. It is a simple piece of equipment and the average person should have no problem figuring it out.

Hmm, Did not get anything at all from HR yet (What is supposed to be in there?), also no training material here. I should get the FMS stuff within the next couple of days (Around 4-5 Hours to complete, so no worries for now). Nik |

Well I got an email from Fed Ex saying that I had an overnight from the HR people at Colgan Air. I think its the Offer Letter....training contract....flight and hotel info....all that fun stuff. USMC-SGT....thanks for the info about the FMS trainer. Anything you would tell new hires that you wish you would have brushed up on before training? Flynik....check your PMs.

Are you gonna move or make the mad attempt to commute from Orlando? If you're commuting from O-town.....good luck. Then again, if they do away with outstation basing altogether, it might not be so bad.

| Junior Member | I am going to make the mad commute to EWR. I already have a place to stay close to the airport so I really dont think it will be that bad. Oh and by the way....my times were 550/125.

Just an FYI to all the new Colgan FOs out there on the Q that might be flying with me....... I like Black English Breakfast tea with cream and one sweet and low after three o'clock it will be decaf. I'm always taking a PDP. It is ingrained in my head after flying the Beech around 1700+ hours. I ride in the FRONT seat on the van ride, it is a PITA for me to crawl my frame to the back seat. An 8:40 AM show means be at the van at 8:35 AM. Don't want to have other crews waiting for us. At dinner, I prefer dinner salads with a nice appetizer. I'll show you my 'hometown' and my 'glory days' at college as we fly in and out of EWR. Don't make fun of New Jersey. More to come as I think of them

| Old Skool | EWR might not be that bad. Old instructor from Air Orlando used to make that commute with XJT.
