| Old Skool | Two guys who have been at each others throats at times met up last night for an 'unofficial' meet and greet. They had an awesome time together and can easily become friends. It is funny how we have a ding-a-ling measuring contest on here sometimes against each other, but we all have the same goals and wants in life and this career. I really, really, really, suggest guys attend these meet and greets. We have a lot in common, even more than we all think.

| Good point Seggy. If I could please I would also like to add that checkrides, medicals, B-plans, CFO's, Crashpads, EDCT's, and LDA's aren't as discouraging as a bad day at the regular office. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4a1z7NLnNk Oh, and...GO GIANTS! |

| Old Skool | No doubt! I keep saying it guys, but the folks I argue with on here the most are generally the folks I get along with the best. FL270, mpenguin, montanapilot (a long time ago), you name it! If we threw down on here, we almost always loved each other once we had a chance to meet. Don't ever judge somebody because you argue with them online! You'll be prematurely cutting some awesome people out of your life!

| The people you argue with are the ones you get along with the most. Shoot we were arguing at the M&G talking about stuff, difference is when you're arguing in person people can hear your tone of voice so something that sounds arrogant or boa####l on paper sounds different in person. Second, the message doesn't get lost in person because instead of posting and coming back an hour later to read someone's reply, you get a reply that split second because...the person's right in front of you! If you took our conversation on low time pilots and RJ courses and put it in a thread I think it would've been 50 pages easy. And that's just one of the 30 threads our conversations would of made. There would of been a couple in the Lav about Religion, Israel, Strip Clubs , etc. Its just awesome meeting people in person.

) It's basically the nonpilot version of CRM and even plays a big role in CRM. Things get lost in translation of written word. You can't see emotion, facial expressions or tone of voice, hence the 50 page flame war threads, but if you get together face to face and discuss the same topic, it's fun, civil, and you get the real meaning of what's being conveyed. Sometimes I can't follow what John says in his posts but in person, I'm totally in sinque whith what he's saying!![]()

| Old Skool | It's true maing. Once you can assign a tone of voice behind a post it makes A LOT more sense. Whenever I read BobDDuck's posts, I can hear Ethan saying those same words. Same with SteveC. After meeting these guys their posts take on a whole new tone.

| Old Skool | Yeah, well, I have to tell you, I'm just as much of a prick in person as I am on the web. You've been warned. ![]() |
