Default Salaried CFI positions?

I would be extremely grateful if anyone knew of any salaried CFI/II/MEI positions available near either Chicago, Boston, or Washington DC.

Ive searched around and I have found 1 or 2, but i might be moving to one of these cities in the near future and if anyone could shed any insight I would appreciate it very very much.

Thanks guys!

I dont know of any in that area but there are some sweet positions in the Phoenix area that offer $40K+ salary with full benefits.

Its probably going to be difficult to find salaried up here. The weather turns to crap for weeks at a time and no one makes money and the schools cant afford to pay for people to sit around. I teach at a school in the DC area, and if there are any salaried jobs in the area, I would love to know.

At American Flyers I get salary of $2,200 take home every month. You start off the first 1-2 months as part-time but even part timers are taking home 13-1500 every month. Then you go to Full time as long as the position is open (which it usually is at my school/work). Thats just doing CFI/CFII stuff... but they also require you to have your FOI, AGI, and CFI-A to teach ground schools if they need you to. If you want Multi Engine I don't know what to tell ya.

Thanks guys, I was just curious if anyone knew any operations like that.

The other question is, for those of you who work up north as a CFI, how to you guys fare in the winter? Do you have two jobs? Do you CFI part time in the Spring/Sum/Fall months?

Any information is appreciatedd because im just wondering if it is possible to make a living being a CFI up north.

I just got a postacard in the mail the other day from Pan Am Int'l. Flight Academy in Airzona. I guess they offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a salaried position starting at $40+k/year.

I keep thinking about trying to do that, but isn't it teaching barely english speaking foreigners? That is the only part that bothers me I guess.

Winter is rough. Nobody seems to decide "hey I should finally learn to fly" when it is -20C. I work 4-5 days a week and have given less than 30 hours of flight instruction so far this month.

Of course, this summer I worked evenings and weekends and even with that schedule gave about 60 hours flight instruction per month.

It seems like winter demand is simply displaced to the summer months, so if you're looking to teach for a while, it probably evens out.
