We're cool man. It just sounded a little harsh.

I honestly wish I had more chances. Vectors to final for the visual just isn't any fun, I much prefer to fly it in the soup. Cruising however, keep it nice and clear so I can enjoy the scenery.

As for the Airways/United flying, sometimes in the course of one day we do both! When I was based out of HPN we'd fly to IAD as United, then taxi the plane over to the Z gates and do an AOO turn as Airways before back to the United side to go back to HPN.

Ed, you're such a pansy. Oooh, big approach to minimums....oooh. What's your deal, anyway?

You know, I wasn't in IAD on the day in question; but a couple years ago, we were at the gate, weather was crap. All of a sudden, the 'brain factory' decides we need to bring the plane to HEF and swap out. The Captain (I hadn't upgraded yet) at the time TOLD them this wasn't a good idea....we were scheduled to leave in 30 minutes and it was unlikely we'd get back in to IAD once airborne. Well, as you know, reason is not something that goes well at Colgan. So, we launch. Get to HEF....but no HEF to be found....go missed. Contact dispatch on the miss and ask them what they want us to do. They decide we should go back to IAD. (Hmmmm, didn't we just leave there and suggest this was a bad idea.) So back to IAD we go....vectors for 19R. Shoot the approach...nothing. Go missed. Get vectors back for 19R, during this, the airport turns around to help everyone get in. Now we're vectors for 1R. Get to mins. Approach lights in sight. Continue. Runway in sight. Land. That was the easy part. We couldn't taxi in because it was nearly impossible to see 50 ft in front of you. What a mess!

So, after 2 hours we wound up right back where we started and instead of leaving on time......we had a bunch of PO'd passengers and launched about 2 hours late. Thanks 'brain factory'...you guys rule!!!!!!

Trying to think rationally and use reason at Colgan only gives you a headache.

Thanks, the reason I asked is because the Beech guys I know have US Airways Express hats and I didn't know if the company would require you guys to have a uniform for each carrier or just keep you with one particular codeshare. When you did those flights were they in the lovely Captain America Saabs?

Yeah, they give the standard Colgan wings and badges to the saab folks. We were usually in the Captain America Saabs. Sometimes we'd have to double bag drag for a plane swap.
