Default Tax time!

It is that time of year again! Anyone have any specific knowledge on these two?

Pilot Tax - http://pilot-tax.com

Chase Consulting Group - http://chasetaxgroup.com/

I have an LLC that needs to be taken care of as well, so if anyone has any good insight to either of these I would appreciate it!

I used pilot tax, they did a bang up job, even did my per diem, I love their organizer, it's awesome, I have a partnership with which I personally file form 1065 and I gave them a copy of my schedule K-1 that I also filled out and they took care of the rest.

I don't know about an LLC though, do you file any additional forms or just include income on your 1040?

I won't be using them this year though because I don't a home (ie no interest deduction) and being married I cannot deduct more than the standard deduction unless I flat out make stuff up on my tax return so I'm just going the turbotax way this time.

TuboTax baby... TurboTax.

Although, next year I may actually be making enough that it will be worth it to spend some money and have a pro do it for me.

I wouldn't discredit your FO income, last year pilot-tax was able to "find" enough deductions to go over my standard deduction quite a bit, and I saved about triple what it cost me to have them do it. Not a *lot* of money, but a *lot* to me especially since I had no home interest to deduct.

Word. I even have this nifty Excel spreadsheet one of the other PCL pilots whipped up to compute per diem deductions for me.

TurboTax is great! Us newbies don't make enough to need the sophisticated stuff yet.

I have used TurboTax in the past, but with the new found money of upgrade and the LLC, I think it is time for a pro to handle. Anyone use this company?...

you could still use TurboTax Premier instead of deluxe or basic. This year I also have extra goodies, 1099, w-2 and schedule c nightmares, but all in all TT does a bang up job
