| I had to read the ad three or four times to make sure I wasn't nuts. But there it is, in this month's edition of "Flying" on the page facing page 39. Quote:
How can they do/say that? I know JetU is a dead-horse topic, but this changes...because I thought they could only guarantee you an interview. What gives?

| Old Skool | Is there any big flight school out there that advertises the quality of their instruction anymore instead of talking about getting you done the quickest? Really I can't remember seeing any.

| Old Skool | They have been saying for awhile that they guarantee a job for 250hours. I asked (email) and was told that if you dont make PCL, PSA, etc that they have an agreement with GIA for the 250 hours. Welcome to Gulfstream! |

| Agent Smith | Probably because, I presume, one of the airlines which they're providing fresh meat for is bulking up in order to have folks to fly during a potential strike. If you did the research and still chose an outfit like JetU, chances are you're going to use the same "Oh I just wanna fly jets" rationale as your saunter across the picketline.

| Agent Smith | More like: "I gotta pay off that 29% APR loan I took out on JetU!"

Dude, if that happens I think I would personal pull a PSA and leave them something in their mailboxes at home. Nevermind the fact that if they do that, Pinnacle would more than likely be the LAST job they get in the airline industry. If/when the striking pilots came back to work, I'm pretty darn sure our MEC would make them being escorted off the property and shown the door part of the deal. I can't imagine this pilot group meshing with picket line crossers post strike.

| Senior Member | Don't worry, if Pinnacle strikes, I stand behind my union. And people, do not take this BS about a written job guarantee. I can name you NAMES of people (pilots) who walked out of Jet U, after having completed the program, and had no job. That written contract is all BS, and slanted HEAVILY towards the Jet U personnel... including, basically, a no-sue clause that you won't hold take any Jet U employee or property in court. You're dealing with HC and MO. Those two KNOW how to deal with flight shcool students, and they've had their shares of court experiences. You can forget it if you think they'll actually "guarantee" you a job. NOTHING is guaranteed. If you get hired by Pinnacle, then that's great. If not, they help in setting up in an interview with PSA, or Air Wis. But believe me, there are pilots I know that walked out of there with no job. Don't buy the 'job guaranteed' BS. You'll save yourself a headache. |
