Found a youtube video. It looks like they got a Caravan. I was bummed.... But then I saw the plane go above the clouds. And then I saw the skydivers go through the clouds... ![]() What's your synopsis...do you see the same thing? I have the sound off, language may be foul.

| Old Skool | What the hell is that??? And yeah, you don't see the plane punch through the clouds so in *theory* they could have climbed through a hole and been legal. However, they very much did go through a layer to get down (it got dark, the background got gray and there was water forming on the camera lense). Also, he did seem to pull the chute in the clouds, which is a even bigger no no. Slushie, I think you don't good to get out of there when you did. Turbine time isn't worth something like that. |

It's hard to tell, he could have gone through a hole but it looks like they went through a layer. I can't tell for certain by looking at the video. I don't think he pulled in the cloud itself it looks like he broke out and pulled. The angle of the camera is showing you what's above them so it may make it seem like he pulled in the cloud.

And the way the regs are written, the PIC is responsible for what the skydivers do....

When the first jumpers go out you can see they don't even look down at all, too look for the spot but also to look for other planes. Every dropzone I've been to after the doors open you stick your head out the plane and comfirm your over the dz and see if theres traffic. But I guess every dropzone is different with how strict they are with their rules. But yeah, even with skydivers looking for traffic its definitely a good idea to try and avoid dropzones if you can. |
