Figured you were, but I thought I would throw that info out for the ones that might just think that a new aileron and hammer would work

As far as replacing the skin...I have helped reskin the belly of an Aztec. No fun. For what it is worth, I would much rather be behind an leaky greasy radial in cramped quarters or upside down under an instrument panel than reskin anything.

Would work? probably. Legal? Hell no.

Who landed the aztec gear up?

Skinning isnt the bad part, its taking the stupid thing apart. (I helped on a RV-7 build)

Ahhhh, assumptions....

Nobody landed it gear up. I used to work for a company that sprayed mosquitoes using Aztecs. We had a hose rupture one night and a good portion of the chemical we were spraying got sucked into the belly of the airplane through an old antenna hole. We cleaned the airplane as best we could initially, but several years later, we had to reskin the belly due to corrosion damage. No fun at all. Bad thing was, Piper no longer had skin parts, so we ended up having to make the skin ourselves

That would do it too. Nasty corroded metal is the worst.
