Default Anatomy of a Midair... In fine detail

Very interesting. The classic high wing v. low wing accident captured in pictures. It shows pictures of the accident taking place with captions below it. It was probably fun doing a go-around in the taildragger with the tail looking the way it did.

Wow! Glad everyone walked away. It must have been fun landing that taildragger without a rudder.

Looking at that will make you be a little more careful next time you go up. Before today I had the "I'll see it coming" attitude. When I departed the pattern the tower told me that there was no traffic in the area. Right after she said that I spotted traffic at 3 o'clock, maybe a couple hundred feet lower. I took evasive action as a precaution. Then returning to the airport, the tower informed me of traffic at 12 o'clock. It took me quite a while to find it since the mountains where behind him. No question, vigilance is paramount in collision avoidance!
