| It's Monday - Friday. And I was in CASS and caught a jumpseat home as soon as Indoc was finished. I guess now that you spend 4 weeks there instead of just two, you will probably be in both CASS as well as the US Airways non-rev system by the time you get out of there.

| Appleton isn't all that bad. With any luck, you'll have some great classmates and you can use the weekends to go out and have a little fun.

| My guess is musketeerman is talking about my post. I too hope he didn't make his decision solely on my one opinion and of the union site but came to the conclusion from multiple sources that he didn't see himself having a future at AWAC. AWAC's future will HINGE on getting larger aircraft IMO. I personally wouldn't bet 3-4 years of my life on the company as it stands, I'd consider Mesaba, Republic, possibly even SkyWest due to all of their bases. If AWAC signs a deal for bigger planes it will probably be around but I have to ask myself what the future of a 69 aircraft fleet of 50 seat RJ's really is. CaptChris is much more optimistic however, I support him on that effort and I agree AWAC is a great place to work, but I just wouldn't bet my career on the company right now. I don't know where musketeerman ended up but hopefully it fits him and I would bet he has a future there. As far as AWAC being THE BEST I'm sure you will find many who disagree. "The best" as ranked in what? Certainly not performance or service quality, or growth (negative growth of - 20% over the past 3 years). One thing the pilot group does have going for it is a fairly unified group with good leadership. Keep in mind AWAC pilots lost their formal grievance against the company and it's been ruled the "old" contract will not be coming back. Also I suppose I should disclose that I am involved with ALPA so my views are slightly biased .

| I believe he ended up at Republic. And yep, he has a future there....for today. Remember when Comair was the "hot" regional? That can happen again at any given time. The regional industry is such a cut throat world that I just don't see ANY place being a "sure thing" anymore.

| Is it true AWAC used to arrange for transportation to and from work for crews? Like being picked up at home by a limo and driven to the airport. I heard something about that a long time ago not sure if it was true or not. |

![]() Anyway...listen. Until your paycheck has the same name written on it, that is written in BIG, LARGE, BOLD letters on the side of your airplane, you will always still be a CHUMP that flies contract work. My goal is in 4 years or less to be done with this Regional crap. Stability and Regional Airline are not words that fit in the same sentence when talking about a career folks. Go big or go home. This thread is worthless without pics of hot girls. ![]() | |

They used to be their own "brand", ie airline, so maybe back then. It's a first class company though, we even had "class photos" done, I had my badge at noon on the first day to jumpseat and nonrev, etc. and that was after the "good old days". Heck get this - in order to get our health insurance started earlier they changed our hire date to the day before our official class date started, so we didn't wait 6 weeks for insurance to kick in and instead only had to wait 2 weeks (if you started <15th of the month you got it at the beginning of the next month, if you started >15th you had to wait till the month after). We even got paid for that extra day.

Just do your own research. What doesn't work for one may work out for another.

| Interesting...maybe it had nothing to do with insurance in the first place...maybe more to do with positive spacing and such the day before class. On a side note why do people post such big pictures, they distort the screens on most computers so we have to scroll horizontally and makes reading threads kinda annoying.

It's a regional airline...with a good contract. Get your time, and move on....or stick around---the choice is yours. Wheelsup.... let me ask you something. If Delta and United merge--do you think Skywest would have any issues? I bet your a$$ that if that happens you'll be happy you're here and not there. Stuff can change on a dime in this industry---as we all know. Mine as well go somewhere that your paid well and treated well while your at work. My $.02---carry on.
