Default Regional airline question.

How much would a full time F.O. start out making flying a CRJ for delta connection?Just curious because this is the airline I want to start with.

Where do you even start with a thread like this....

For one, you dont fly for an airline called "delta connection." You fly for a regional airline that will fly with the paint of "delta connection." First you have to find the regionals that do. I think Delta have the most, something like 7. I know ASA, Comair, ExpressJet, etc. Then you have to apply with them. Then you may not even get Delta paint. With ExpressJet you could end up with Continental, Delta, or Express. With some airlines such as ASA, you may not even get the RJ, you may get the ATR.

I can only see this thread going south.

Check this out though for how much first year FO pay is at each:

Hey, I remember a time when I referred to them as "Delta Connection" and wasn't the wiser. It took me working as a fueler to discover the workings of airline life. As said before, check out airlinepilotcentral.

I didnt mean to come off in a negative way. I know the consensus will be that you shouldnt worry about an RJ right now. It will be that the poster should worry about the training before that, and worry when the time comes.

Besides the fact that whoever is operating for delta connection now, may not be the same people in a few years.

Gosh, sure glad some of you guys don't run a website, GAH! "Go to Google!"

CaptainPhil: Which "Delta Connection" carrier are you asking about? Expressjet, Comair, Big Sky, Mesa, Republic, Skywest, ASA... (Did I miss any? )

Man, Delta certainly has been hanging out "Delta Connection" monikers like free ciggies at a NASCAR race, eh?

You can expect to be in the mid 20's for your first year. As many of the guys have written, check out airlinepilotcentral for actual hourly rates of the various regionals.

Good luck!
