Default PSA's "Phantom Pooper" Has Returned!

Dial 800-458-7359 (MEC Code a phone)

Select Option #1 then Option #2.

Man, I guess "The Phantom Pooper" has a son at a regional!

The "Phantom Pooper" is old school mainline folklore.

Something along the lines of "Captain Jerk left his flight kit unlocked and the 'Phantom' got eem"

I mean it's unprofessional and undeniably unsanitary, but I don't care who you are, that's morbidly entertaining, especially on a rainy, dreary day here in Scottsdale.

Do you have a link for the old folklore? I remember it, but some might not remember it and need some entertaining reading.

I couldn't stop laughing when I was listening to the call...Julie thought I was going nuts....She's like, "what are you laughing at? who are you talking to? Must be one of your JC Homies...." I told her what I was listening to/about and she jsut looked at me weird. "why is that funny?" I just told her she'd never understand..... "I guess not..."

cold and dreary....I hear you... 39 and rain in MSP. Not sure where the sun is....

Yeah... I had to write up part of that VARS message. Talk about restraint.

That sad part about it is, the whole incident MAY not have been directed at the CP. Out of the 3 we have he has been the CP the longest, and hence probably has the most "enemies". Also, he doesn't have a lot of tact. Generally, he's a shoot first, ask questions later sort of guy. I've had him yelling at me before about something scheduling said I did, before I could even explain what had happened (and the tapes backed me up). Afterwards he was man enough to apologize.

So, he could have just really ticked somebody off, or this could be a political play by the group who is trying to dump (hehe) our current MEC. By doing so they may have hoped to make the current ALPA leadership look ****ty (hehe) and cause a big stink (hehe).

Ok, so now you see why I said most of the VARS message isn't mine.

Nah, no link that I know of. Basically word of mouth throughout the years, you know?

I've never seen it, or even know that it even happened, but it's one of those "I heard from a guy that knew a guy whose captain it happened to" stories.

Kind of like the "I like my coffee how I like my women" story.

Come on you can say it:

1) someone left a large bag of feces in the CP Vfile

Here's the actual text... that said, hearing Mark say it is much more amusing.

Quote:
(Also available on the PSA Hotline at (800) 4-JTS-FLY)

Fellow PSA Pilots,

This is Mark Stanley your MEC Chairman with an update for Monday December 31st with two items.

Item 01
I have been advised that an unknown individual placed a large quantity of feces in Chief Pilot Tom Arline’s V-file in the Charlotte crew room.
While some of you may find some humor in this news, the Association vehemently condemns this sort of immature, reprehensible, and unsanitary behavior. I trust all of you will join me in denouncing this senseless and disturbing act. I can only hope that none of our pilots had any involvement in this event. If one of us was, I offer my personal and professional apology to Tom.

Item 02
On behalf of the entire MEC I wish all of you a safe, prosperous, and happy New Year. Thank you to all who have worked so hard to make PSA a better airline. Also, to all those who have served their fellow pilots by selflessly volunteering their precious time on the MEC or within the ALPA committee structure, on behalf of this entire pilot group, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

That is all for this update.

Again, Happy New Year and fly safe,

Mark Stanley
MEC Chairman

Word to the wise...

(and non-sequitur to the victim of this incident)

If you're going to be a pain in the butt to fly with, ALWAYS lock your flight kit.

Even if you're the ace of the base, ALWAYS lock your flight kit.

There were several old school NWA captains who had to chain their flight cases down. Every time somebody got their hands on them they would slap a Narita bag tag on it and throw them on the nearest baggage belt.
