| Re: Bombardier vs. Embraer ERJ-135 blow monkey turds.
With a fleet of 30 135s and over 200 145s you'd fugure that with commonality in mind they spend more for the 135 subfleet than they save in the slightly marginally less fuel burn.
Plus Justin gets home before spending WAAAAYYYY too long in EWR.

From a purely pilot-oriented point of view (meaning I only care about my personal enjoyment, and not about whether the company makes any money), the E-135 is a blast to fly. I've flown a few pretty close to empty and it flies like a little cruise missile! |

| Re: Bombardier vs. Embraer Alright lets argue over who's opinion is more rational.
I want to get home, I need more seats. 135 bad, 145 good, yes even a POS -ER. That is unless they sell the extra 13 seats. At which point Justin is just as angry as before.
I say the best is whatever gets me home. That was accomplished with 2 737s, a bus and a rent a car. No RJs got me home, so all RJs suck. As Seggy wrote, I hate RJs.

| Re: Bombardier vs. Embraer Chris, so with that rationale you think that one should buy a ticket everytime they want to get to/from work?
OTP wasn't traveling along, there were a few other mainline guys who were trying to get home. |

Yep bought a ticket, but I certainly wasn't contributing to the health of the airline. If I dont NEED to be somewhere at a certain time, I non-rev. If I HAVE to someplace, I buy a ticket.
Can't take a bit of the humor you dish?

| Re: Bombardier vs. Embraer Ahh filling a 37 seat aircraft with high fuel expenses might not be the best indication the airline is doing well.
Actually, can't fill it to 37 seats maybe 34 seats because of weight restrictions. So explain to me how consistently being overweight, leaving passengers behind is 'good' for an airline.
The GSO station had to give out something like $75,000 in vouchers, denied boarding vouchers, etc when CHQ started their CRJ service from there to IAH this past summer. They were usually weight restricted to 40 seats out of 50.
Oh by the way, yes I have bought tickets for family when they have had to be there. |

Maybe a bit tired, but definitely not whining. I've been doing this non-rev thing for quite a while and know how to roll with the punches. Extra day in Dublin? I'll go drink more beer. Waste a day and night in EWR? thats a bit more frustrating. But thats how I roll.

| Re: Bombardier vs. Embraer Fringe benefit?!?! Pass riding is da bomb, at least when traveling alone. I've flown more these past two months then I've ever in the last 5 years combined. Been able to hang out with many friends and family members within a time period that would be impossible financially without pass benefits. First class sometimes too. Moreover, when the flight is full there is that last option of the jumpseat.
