Default FAA: Boeing's New 787 May Be Vulnerable to Hacker Attack

http://www.wired.com/politics/securi...liner_security

The computer network in the Dreamliner's passenger compartment, designed to give passengers in-flight internet access, is connected to the plane's control, navigation and communication systems, an FAA report reveals.

The revelation is causing concern in security circles because the physical connection of the networks makes the plane's control systems vulnerable to hackers. A more secure design would physically separate the two computer networks. Boeing said it's aware of the issue and has designed a solution it will test shortly.

Wow.... this doesn't sound good... seems like something Boeing would have thought of before this point...

Lol, yeah well wait for the environmental testing when that leaks out. Some of it has already. Environmental and systems integration are their first concerns.

Someday when the general media hires some serious consultants we MIGHT get the full story on the next project. I was around for the last year and a half of the 380 and that was a much more conventional design which rueters still couldn't understand.

U might be right. Of course i would try to keep away from the old thunderstorms with that composite. Old computers aren't gonna run after a good strike.
