So I guess the Alarus and 152s won't be taking off for flight training today.

A United 777 took off from 28R and reported a 40 knot loss. About 30 minutes later someone wanted to depart 28R and when he requested it, another United jet chimed in and told him it was dumb. He said the jet before the 777 reported a 70 knot (yes, 70 knot) loss. About 1/3 of the airplanes are going missed even with the wind almost right down the runway. (Even 767's and 747's).

Fly safe.

Oh come on, the alarus can handle that kind of wind.

SFO is getting a lot of diversions... Cathay from Hong Kong just diverted to LAX.
