Funny you mention that. I was in PHL the other day and a US East captain caught my JetCareers bagtag and started talking to me about flying. Turns out he did his military training at the now civilian airport I got my ratings from.

We had a great conversation and then I mentioned that I was non-reving on an America West employee's bennies. He then proceeded to give me a 30 minute lesson on the proper merging of pilot seniority lists. He basically said he would ride the airline into the ground before he signed a contract based on he Nicolau
Award.

Hate to say it cause I know what it's like to lose a job, but that airline needs a mercy killing. Until they either get their act together or "go quietly into that good night," they will be a drag on the whole industry. I have several friends flying there and they agree.

Without starting a "Nicolau-Good or Bad?" thread, (I can get my fill on the ALPA National Forum, thanks,) I do feel that the Easties were given a HUGE Bohica. With that said, the Westies weren't responsible for said pillaging, Wolf, Gangwal, Lakefield, Parker, et al were. It's way past time for them to figure out how to recoup their losses jointly.

I'm still feeling something with USAir and United, but that's really just based on employee rumors and making too many casual connections between trade journal articles.

I swear you follow the news right you can get some good predictions going though. I still can't believe how my dad predicted America West and USAir much the same way, just by piecing news articles together.
