Eastbound flight number. West are odd flight numbers, east are eveno flight numbers.

They want us to say it that way for clarity.

I keep hearing ''USairs'' but I also keep hearing ''Deltas''

Maybe I should start using ''Colgans''. That would just be weird.

Maybe they're only like that for U.S. carriers? Lufthansa flight 410 is even but it's a westbound flight from EDDM to KJFK. Lufthansa flight 455 is odd but it's an easbound from KSFO to EDDF. I think pretty much all of Lufthansa's flights are like this. Also, Jetblue 4 is westbound from KJFK to KBUF.

Probably just a company thing.... a quick glance at my schedule shows we've really got no rhyme nor reason for the flight numbers. Unless someone could shed more light such as all N/S flights being odd and E/W flights being even??? Honestly though, I probably think about the flight number the least in regards to doing the flight. I just readback the flight number I have on the release to ATC and they seem to be ok with that.

I had a student try to impress me once by saying "beechcraft Fife Niner wun Tree tango (5913t) heavy at the east tees waiting on the tug, ready for push back" It was his personal airplane (sundowner) I don't know what the response was from ground control because I flipped off the avionics and pulled the mix. And left. I didn't want to be associated with a show off like that. I heard a guy on the the radio recently that I think was singing his x-missions. Which one of you that said these guys were tools was spot on!

Priceless. I'd love to have seen the look on his face when you did that!

It's not plural, it's possessive, or so I hear.

I agree that Airways is the biggest offender, but Snuggle's got a point. I hear quite a few Delta guys doing the same thing.
