| Here's another one, Here's the choices;;, Runways 18, 36, 30, or 12? Again winds are out of the SW at 210. My thinking is I'm gonna choose runway 18 cause I'm running on the right engine. My relative wind will be from the right wich will give me more effective rudder authority against the right engine's thrust moment, ESPECIALLY if I have to do a single engine go araound!

| From What people tell me you should land on your first attempt. A go-around in a piston twin with only one engine is not a good idea. |

| Whatever the active runway is or the runway you would normally pick. A single engine approach and landing is not the most simple of tasks but it is not the most difficult either. My take is why do anything different, you dont in practice why change it up at the big game?

| Agent Smith | I've landed single engine before, I just took the longest runway with a headwind.

| Senior Member | Apparently, they love to ask that question during one of the interviews at Cathay Pacific. From what I was told by a guy flew with that recently interviewed there, the answer that you gave would be the correct answer.

| Agent Smith | Really? Sweet! Glad to have won one! ![]() Besides in many aircraft, when the crosswind becomes a factor during the last phases of landing, the trim's mostly out anyway.

considering this post and the last one you had, I would suggest getting a new airplane.... ![]()

| Since I've experienced a critical engine loss I'll just tell you from experience that you'll look for the longest, widest, safest piece of pavement you can find. A go-around occupies a spot in the aft cabin since you'll be mainly concerned with putting her down safely on the first try.
