| Agent Smith | Ok folks, I've been out of town with limited internet access so that's enabled me to look at the forum in a 'macro' view rather than a hour-by-hour perspective. We've had a rash of 'reported posts'. Some, quite disturbingly, from people that found themselves involved in a pissing match with another user, took a final stab and then quickly clicked the 'report post to moderator'. That's not how it's supposed to be used. Moderators aren't your big brother that you call on when someone's got you bested. We're here to 'steer' the environment as facilitators as opposed to being hall monitors and mall security guards. In fact, here's a perfect opportunity to review "The Rules" listed on the top level menu of the forum. DO IT, I'm not kidding. If you're posting angry, continually taking swipes at your fellow users or can't seem to form a cogent argument sans expletives or insults when you have a difference of opinion with your fellow webbie, you have no need (and no constitutional right) to be on an internet forum sharing an opinion.

| Senior Member | Can it become a pissing match over your avatar if I nearly soiled my pampers, too?

| I might be getting older, but seriously; an avatar of a man kicking in the head an elderly woman is by no means funny to me. Ahh, and since I'm at it, ( I know it was a while ago but need to take it out of my system) the JC sticker on the missile, NOT COOL, who knows what that missile end up blowing up. There might be a small, (or big) corpse somewhere in a poor third world country with a jetcareers logo deep in his or her skull. I know I'm gonna get a lot of flak, and hate, for what I just wrote.......but I said it nonetheless. Sorry Doug, I sure will tell you the above if I ever had the pleasure of having coffee in your living room. |

| I wonder what the origin of the phrase/term "pissing match" is? Did people used to pee on each other to solve disputes? |

| Nah, I'm sure it came from a bunch of dudes sitting around drinking beer and being typical guys. I can see it now, they probably got drunk and decided to go outside in the snow to see who could wee-wee the farthest....now don't get any ideas guys...LOL |

Seriously, I've truly never found Jerry Seinfeld, and episode of Friends, or Sex in the City by any means funny to me! "I, as in me, might be getting older. . . Hope no one hates me for it. ![]() PS - I can't remember ever seeing the JC on a missle avatar. My bust! . . .I do see some very amusing and creative avatars. | ||
