Default Re: How to log flight time for Regionals

Mini, I agree with you wholeheartedly on the PIC thing. My question related to those off-nominal situations. I can see two PICs being in a position to ferry an airplane to a different location. For ferrying reasons only, who cares who is PIC/SIC. I was wondering if the logbook entry could possibly be perceived as something negative.

Thanks.

Not sure how a future interviewer would know. I'm assuming you're referring to two typed, current, captain qualified (passed checkrides, beyond the IOE stage, etc.) persons sitting up front going from A to B.

Even in this case, the company is going to designate a PIC and an SIC (they're required to do so). Naturally, the PIC will/should log PIC and the SIC should/will log PIC. However, I'm not sure how a future interviewer would ever find out. You're already a captain and you logged PIC. I don't know that it'd seem fishy. Then again, I could be wrong...stranger things have happened .

Still, I wouldn't do it. If the company said I'm the SIC, then I'm the SIC.
