| Senior Member | Whats your longest x-country (NM) in an ASEL? Did you use GPS, Nav Logs, or both?

| Old Skool | Just shy of Six hours from U77 (Spanish FOrk, UT) to KSBA in a Piper Arrow. Mostly Following I-15 and then VOR to VOR across southern California with Flight Following. Not my longest total in one day, but still the longest continuous sit.

| Either Kinston, NC (KISO) - Olive Branch, MS (KOLV), or Smyrna, TN (KMQY) - Gaithersburg, MD (KGAI). On the first trip, all IFR, all VOR's. On the second, GPS.

| Senior Member | The end of march, we have a wedding to go to in NY, so I'm debating if I should think about taking the Archer from KJQF to KEWR or just get airline tickets. The calculator said 3.5 hours for a distance of about 444 NM. I could use the extra time to build for my commercial... just not sure if my wife is too thrilled about the idea.

The first day I flew for about 14hrs or so, then the second day I flew back home in about 4 hrs. No GPS in that airplane, and I didn't have a nav log, because at each stop I got a new destination.. Just low level pilotage. Most of the trip I was down at about 500' due to the wx. All you do is fly the rivers. | |

| Old Skool | I flew a Cessna 172 from Arlington, TX to Ann Arbor, MI and back via Memphis. It was a long couple of days. The legs between Arlington and Memphis were done with Kellwolf.

That wouldnt be too bad of a trip. Probably be pretty fun, but Id suggest not even trying to get into EWR. Might look at TEB(although very expensive to park) or MMU(I think....but its morristown, nj--just west of EWR). FArmingdale on Long Island isnt bad either depending on where you are going.

| Old Skool | If you go into EWR, plan on arriving in the middle of the night. There are some hefty fees for landing during the day. No matter the winds you'll be landing on 11. You might get 29 if there is a strong west wind. also look at linden NJ (LDJ). Its a small GA airport just under the approach path to the 4s, about 5 miles south of EWR. Other nearby airports include Caldwell (CDW) morristown (mmu) and Teterboro.
