| Camarillo, CA to Fayetteville, AR in a C-150. The VOR didn't work so it was pilotage and nav logs the whole way |

| Old Skool | Palmer-Kenai-Wasilla-Palmer. 3 hours I believe. It was seat of pants flying going through ANC airspace, then intersection to intersection navigation going to Kenai. Then I did the same in reverse going to Wasilla. From Wasilla I can see Palmer, so that was easy ![]()

| Senior Member | I flew from KIDP to KGEU three times in a Cessna 172SP. All three times I was delivering a new airplane to the FBO that I worked for at the time. I made two fuel stops in in KBGD and KABQ on the way. That trip was always a blast. Twice I did the trip VFR, and once I had to do it IFR due to weather. GPS was my primary form of navigation, but I always backed it up with VOR's and pilotage.

| I did Grey Army Airfield (GRF) in the SEA area to Heyward Executive in the south SFO bay area in a Skylane with extended range tanks. About.. 600 miles or so. Had two VORs, a DME, and an ADF. Just a hair over six hours.. nonstop.

| Senior Member | Longest ASEL x-c was a round trip from GLH to PVW (Greenville, MS to Plainview, TX) in a Piper Arrow. Flew CP out to look at an airplane the company was looking to acquire. All VFR (working on instrument at time and CP was also my flight instructor) with the exception of PRX - GLH on the way home. GPS for navigation. Stopped both ways in GYI for fuel, and again in PRX (to get IFR charts on the way home) for fuel. Total flight time was 9.7 hours, just under 1100 nm. Multi piston x-c, however, is a different story... |

Basically, a flight from Denver to south FL and back in a C172R. I think it was around 3,500 nm. I did it last xmas with my brother, man what a fun trip that was! I did half VFR, and the other half IFR. About 10% GPS, the rest was Victor airways w/ Navlogs (VORs). Hobbs was 30.0, and actual was around 2.5 or something. Lots of night time too. Great way to build some quality comm time! | |

| Junior Member | My longest trip was a time building flight in my schools newly delivered C172R with a G1000. It went like this: Tulsa OK - Akron OH - Long Island Islip NYC - Wilkes Barre PA - Niagra NY - Akron OH - Bay City MI - Spirit of St Louis MO - Tulsa OK. Round trip was around 30 hours on the Hobbs, with 19 of them actual IMC. Great trip. VFR over Time Square. |

| Junior Member | Orlando, FL to Palm Springs, CA in a new 172. Just me and the XM radio the whole way. One of the best experiences I've had. A lot of it was IMC, with approaches to almost min's at night. Funnest I've ever had in an airplane. I think it was around 25 hours. |
