I guess if you really wanted to live in Shreveport, it would be great. But that begs the question, who in the hell would want to live in Shreveport?

Would you tell me why this is "stupid"? Not every pilot with those kinds of times are (A)at the airlines,or (B) care about going to the airlines. I have a heck of a lot more hours than those posted, and would be very interested in a job like this if I were from that area. But then again,What do I know,I have no college and dont fly jets. Just my opinion.By the way,How old are you? Yours truly, FLY SAFE T.C.

I agree with T.C. on this one. Not everyone is flying for the airlines or cares about flying for the airlines. Either that or a retiree from the airlines. Seems to me by requiring 1500 TT and 1000 Multi, they are looking for someone with experience they can trust with a 421C. Depending on the number of hours they fly a year, it doesn't sound like a bad deal, but I would want to know more specifics first. And just for the record, if I wasn't tied down where I was, I just might be interested in a job like that.

If the job duties were only involved around airplanes, i.e., flying them, managing maintenance, being a customer service liaison for the airplane, etc, then yes. Not mowing the owner's lawn at his house, performing remodeling work on the office, etc... Otherwise I'd be a $75,000/year janitor/handyman/etc, which is what some corporate pilots at some companies are forced to do...and is not something I want to do.

I'm glad someone else said it...

NOT EVERYONE GIVES A FLYING CRAP ABOUT WORKING FOR A 121 AIRLINE!

In fact, many of us making a career in aviation, hope to never fly an airplane part 121.

you could be home every night, salary could be respectable, could be a very small company where everyone knows everybody else and it feels like a family type op... You dont know what the job entails. Could be good or could be bad. the minimums really arent that high. I bet you they wil have people applying with decent experience. If i was looking to work for a corporate gig i dont think i would want to work for the ones that hire right at insurance minimums. food for thought

I can tell you when I first began to seriously pursue a flying career 121 flying was NOT on my career menu. I went ahead, bit the bullet and signed on to a regional to avoid building time as a CFI. Now I can tell you that 121 flying has about a dead even list of pro's and con's but one must have a very high tolerance for BS to adapt to the 121 lifestyle successfully. You HAVE to be able to be a social and procedural chameleon to make it at a regional. Static personalities get chewed up and spat back to the flight schools or banner towing operations, LOL.

It's not too bad once you get used to it. And it is after all an entry level career position. Once I get about 2500 tt I'll be going to a fractional fo sho!!

If I understand correctly, he's got a ton of time flying Agriculture. Just recently got out of that field, thus the low multi time, but is probably building that quickly. I'd trust him with a multi - good stick and rudder man I bet.

Honestly, the only reason airlines appeal to me anymore (other than just loving flying period) is because I can get involved with the unions. Oh hell, I'll admit it, there's still a little bit of the young wide eyed boy in me that dreamed of flying the big silver ships my dad so lovingly maintained (and still does despite all the bull poo poo the industry's been going through). Is it worth it though? I really do wonder that.

But it's almost 2am, things seem...well...different at 2am.

Ha,No Typo. Born and raised in the country and got in ag work pretty young and just stayed there. Didnt really do any other type flying until 2004 when i got the instrument rating.Retired after the 2004 season till now and bought the Apache to build the multi, and that led to the Baron job. I know,I,m kind of a freak around here I dont understand half the stuff you guys talk about half the time but i am learning. Thanks to yall for letting me hang around here. FLY SAFE T.C.
