Exclamation Do you stay at hotels often? You've got to see this!

According to an investigation carried out by a Georgia news station, some hotels don't properly sterilize their drinking glasses (to say the least). This is something that every pilot should be aware of!

Here's a link to the video:

Just like I said in the last five or six threads on the same topic, if you want a good night of sleep, don't watch the video.

Ignorance is bliss and chances are, your own room at home is far nastier anyway.

Ever since this video came out, on every single Sheraton hotel overnight I've had, there are no longer ANY glasses in the room. On the same paper circle cup mats are paper cups.

In two other hotels, I noticed dozens of the small glasses on top of the load of towels in the room service cart, presumably going where everything else goes to get washed.

It appears as if this news report, the one in Georgia with the hidden cameras that brought out way more than bed bugs to the public eye, actually did have an effect on the way hotels clean the glasses or supply them. For now.

Don't worry about the cups, worry about touching the remote control.

Cups sealed in plastic. First sign of a cheap-assed hotel!

Thank you!

The US Dollar sucks!

You're not going to get rock-bottom priced goods and services at high quality any more.

Want to use Priceline and get a "four star" hotel for $80? Check yer sheets!

I carry a small container of clorox hard-surface spray. After going into the hotel room I spray the TV remote, the phone, the alarm-clock... anything I might touch.

Then take the plastic bag from the ice bucket and put the remote inside of it.

I dont want to know what the last fella did while channel surfing...and I sure as heck dont want to touch it!

My steps on overnight:
1. Peel that cummy bedspread away and toss it on the ground.

2. Take a crew room sanicom and wipe the remote.

3. Take a second another sanicom and wipe the toilet seat.

4. Only drink from plastic cups that were wrapped.

NEVER drink from the actual glasses!!!!

To my fellow germ-a-phobs: Don't forget flip-flops for the shower and carpets.

Also if a maid sees a towel that appears undisturbed he/she will leave it there. If you use a towel, at all, throw it on the floor in a ball and help each other out.

Oh jesus, Sally. You have an immune system for a reason.

I sit on the bedspread flipping through channels while drinking ice water from the glass using ice from the bucket. Always have, always will, and I'm still here. In fact, I spend more time in hotels than not and I'm usually only sick once... maybe twice... a year. And I guarantee that isn't from my hotel room. As long as there's no prohibited "wildlife" in my bed, I'm fine...

These things pop up about once a year, it's fun to watch everyone freak out. I was going to post the George Carlin bit about germs because he and I see exactly alike, but... well, you know how George is- just do a search on youtube.

Hehehe - awesome.

Personally, I don't care. I really don't let that stuff bother me. I don't wipe stuff down. I don't think about what the last guy might have had between his fingers. The only thing I don't do is eat off of the comforter.

It's crazy what happened in that video. However, like others have said we have an immune system for a reason. But, bed bugs on the other hand, I stayed at a hotel in MSP and when I came back I had 2 or so rashes on each leg that were similar to chiggers like you would get on your ankles from walking through the woods, but they were around knee level. It took me several weeks for it to go away and I can only assume that they were from bed bugs because I have never had that happen before.

What do you expect from sharing a 'private' living space with a bunch of other people. As if you don't add to the wretchedness yourselves
