Default All of you Airline types, I have a question

I've heard a few rumours that some airlines in the states give deals to Air Traffic Controllers.

One controller is actually flying for next to nothing on his next trip on the advisement of one pilot from a certain airline.

Airlines in my own country offer no such deals, is it true that ones in the states do?

Any information would be very appreciated.

They used to be able to jumpseat. Now, I don't think they can on any carrier. That could be wrong.

A fed told me that since a lot of controllers would use their "observation & familiarization" flights to places like HNL, they ended the program. That may not be the only reason of course.

I had two dudes from Italy come up to me with some tkts like that yesterday. In the place were usually they put airline info they had ATC something or other and the particular agency within the agency they were a part of. They carried S4 priority with us which is lower than dirt so they were hanging around for a while. They eventually made it out though. Not sure if this is what you were asking about.

Well I'll just outright say what rumours I was told

A COA pilot told a controller we get flight privilages with them, and also one controller showed his pass at the counter for Northwest airlines and got a taxes only ticket onto a flight....
