Don't believe that comment was directed at you Granlistillo. It was directed at Jtrain609 after he said, "Well, you're obviously not an airline pilot so we'll make sure we don't listen to THAT little tidbit of advice then eh?"

![]() A five minute dissertation on every detail on the plate is pointless because you'll just brain dump half of it in a couple minutes anyways. Where, what, how, what else (notes, special considerations), what if (missed), questions, my airplane.

The guy in front of me came out and said dude, brief every item on the plate, front and back. Then he was called back in and when he came back out he came out and said "they said i briefed it like a c172 pilot". I never did figure out how an "airline pilot" briefs an approach, but should in the next two months. Thanks to you more experienced guys for spreading the gouge.

| Old Skool | It's not about briefing it the "airline pilot way" what ever that is. It's about briefing it efficiently and safely. It's how EVERY CFII should teach their students. And there is no single way to do it either. Or FOM requires certain items to be briefed, but how you do it is up to you. Jepps has a pretty winning method with the briefing strip (as I found out trying to shoot an approach to mins using a NOS plate last year).
