Default telex 850 in the CRJ

Hey everyone. New to the site. I'm thinking about breaking down and getting the 850's.. It'll be in the crj. wondering if anyone has experience in how well/poor they work there and if you need earplugs underneath, etc... Thanks for the insight!

I don't have them, but I've heard they work well. If you do end up purchasing them PLEASE don't leave the hot mic on.

I use the 850, it works fine.
Other than the 850 I tried the 800 (I think thats what it was) in the jumpseat. The 850 is slightly better.

I use the 750s, but I plan on getting the 850s when I have the $$$. As was mentioned, guys with the 850s tend to not hear annoying sounds like chewing and breathing for some reason, so flip that IC switch when doing either.

In the CRJ, the 850s are the best. ANR needs no battery, and very light to transport. Well worth the money.

I use the 750 at the moment. Have any of you gone from the 750 to the 850? Is it still worth it? I am glad I didn't start with my D/C because having a small headset is the way to go in an already cramed cockpit.

You must have a pretty big melon if the DC's interfere with your duties in the CRJ.

No kidding.

The only reason I ditched my DCs is b/c they wouldn't fit in the flight bag with the rest of the crap I had to carry. Luckily I was able to sell them, buy the 750s off eBay and have money left over.
