If it sounds good, who gives a flip? The weird looks will last a matter of seconds, the awesome music will last as long as you want it to. Do what sounds right, man!

Seriously, I would wear it. I was looking into getting a QC2 for Christmas but the thought of lugging around 2 headsets sounds retarded.

Oh and any girl who thinks you look like a dork with a headset on will be overwhelmed with attraction when she finds out you're a pilot and wearing a headset that set you back a G-note.

yeah it would look funny. Even funnier if you stood up when the captian was speaking and pretended it was you talking. I have been looking at the QC3 latey, it would be nice if bose aviation x headset would be able to use a Lithum battery and/or AA batterys, then you could choose and not have to buy AA's.

Now THAT's funny. I oughta try that with my crappy AvComm headset next time I'm on an SWA flight. I think that would get a laugh there....

Gotta go with Lloyd on this one....Never care about what others think, especially when it comes to something like this. You paid top dollar for all that gear, might as well enjoy it as often as possible. Dunno why anyone would think much of it anyway.

I've done it...except i was using it to watch a movie on the laptop, instead of just listen to music. Simply tucked the mic up and away, and enjoyed my movie. Could have given two craps about any look or anything anyone would have said. There's a darn good chance I'm never going to see any of those folks ever again...lol.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll probably wear 'em. Just didn't want to become one of the spiky haired FO guys.

No - those are the ones that are so concerned about what others think. Screw 'em.

Nothing wrong with spiky hair in and of itself. You all know what I mean...the stereotypical backpack, iPod, spiky haired FO that's always talked about on here. I don't want to become THAT guy.

How do you get the iPod to play thru the Bose? My ears hurt after a while when I just stick the ear buds under the ear phones.

Correct.

You could get one of these though...

Wish I could find something like that for less money.

I'm pretty interested in purchasing one of these. Does anybody use one? I'm curious if ATC transmissions actually override the device? That's pretty nifty.

I have a thing called The Muse http://www.ps-engineering.com/muse.shtml that I am looking to get rid of. I've had it for a few years, but still works fine. Let me know if you are interested.

Or you could get a Zulu...lol. They've already got Bluetooth integrated into the headset. Not vouching...I've only seen the ads. (But then, you also need a phone that has B-T technology...)

What I'm wondering is do you need an ANR headset to use this?

I got some Bose QC3 for christmas and there sound quality over my aviation X is huge, and the QC3 case is not very big, maybe 1/4 the size of a Aviation X case. Its just the $ 350 dollars for headphones. I had a DC X11 for a while and my ipod hooked up great with them and sound was cancelled when ATC, came on the radio.
