So guys, I havent been flying in over 3 months, i have been caught up in work so had very little little free time. SO for those who took a decently long break from fliyng how long did you go up with an instructor before going out by yourself again. im guessing just a quick 45 min flight in and around the practice area and a few landings would do? Thanks- Steve

I've had a couple of 3-4 month breaks in my short time as a pilot... I go up by myself but I do some slow flight and maneuvers and then head for an airport with a nice long, wide runway until I'm comfortable again and then head back to my home field. If an instructor makes you more comfortable, by all means ![]() There was a time when I could really make the 172 dance for me... lately I fly so many different things that I miss that kind of "in touch" feeling... I guess it makes me more conservative though, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. |
