Default Turboclair...

Can anyone tell me more info about this?

I just know that it's underground turbines pushing hot air, which then is blown at the approach end of a runway to clear fog. Sounds like a slick idea but I'm looking for more technical things as well as why it's not so popular and what happened to the idea.

That's pretty much it.

They covered that in one of my classes at ERAU and that's about as far as they got.
