ExpressJet Airlines Welcomes One-Millionth Customer Aboard L.A./Ontario Flight
Friday November 9, 5:56 pm ET

HOUSTON, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ExpressJet Airlines announced it said "welcome aboard" to more than one million customers, as the airline celebrated that milestone today with customer Stephen Lord on flight number XE 0104 departing from L.A./Ontario to Colorado Springs at 12:40 PM.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20071109/LAF105)

"Every customer counts at ExpressJet Airlines, and we are delighted to honor our one-millionth customer today," said Jim Ream, ExpressJet President and CEO.

Earlier this year, ExpressJet Airlines began flying non-stop under its own brand to 24 markets across the West, Midwest and Southeastern U.S. Next week, ExpressJet Airlines expands non-stop service with three new markets, Long Beach, Santa Barbara and Reno-Tahoe.

While handing out a round-trip ticket voucher to the one-millionth customer and thanking him for his business, Ream said the real stars of the day were ExpressJet employees.

"ExpressJet's people have risen to the occasion to launch a new brand of flying in all of the cities where we have introduced service," Ream said. "At the same time, they continued to give customers an excellent experience, whether they fly with us as Continental Express, Delta Connection or on a charter aircraft."

ExpressJet Airlines is one of the world's largest regional airlines and has operated successfully as Continental Express, serving over 150 destinations for more than 10 years. ExpressJet also has been named twice to Fortune Magazine's "Most Admired Airlines" list.

"We have an impressive track record," Ream said. "But today, I especially want to recognize all the hard work each employee does to make this airline successful." Even when employees' efforts go unrecognized because they work behind the scenes, "it all adds up," Ream said.

Probably rumor.

You know how pilots and gossip is... it's like it's always the night before the prom and we're all girls vying for 'Prom Queen".

Definately a rumor... and the first I've heard of it.

Anyway... It is cool to see that announcement. I'll be in ONT in 3 weeks!

Looking forward to giving Don a lift home...

Pilots don't read US Weekly!

At least in JFK, it's USAToday, The New York Times, Esquire, Maxim, The New Republic and strangely, I've seen quite a bit of Foreign Policy magazine.

Yes. And in a much shorter amount of time. HOWEVER... that might not be such a good thing seeing how things worked out for them.

Just a rumor. The saying around the school house was if you haven't heard a good rumor before noon...start one.

They didn't have the support of coded flying. You guys only had to find flying for 69 jets. You're in a much better place than they were. XJT and FlyI don't compare.

Rumors at ExpressJet are starting but the following (not in any specific order)...

1) This one guy I know, his neighbor is a Continental captain and told my Mom's friend that ExpressJet...
2) I was talking to this retired Continental captain...
3) I overheard these two Continental pilots in the terminal...
4) My buddy who's worked there for a whole 3 months said _____ (insert rumor here).
5) This senior ExpressJet captain told me...
6) The Continental pilot, who didn't know I was an Express pilot, told me...

It's worse than junior high, high school, and college combined!

Mr. Taylor,

Please get it right. Its ExpressJet not Expressjet.

Southernjets is like this:

* "I've got a friend on the "4th floor" who said..."
(The "4th floor" is where all the flight ops illuminati reside)
* "We had a mechanic on the jumpseat who was talking about..."
* "We flew a bunch of ALPA guys to (hub city) for some special meeting..."
(Depending on the hub city's dominant carrier feeds the merger rumor du jour)
* "The vice president of (division) dropped by to introduce himself on the way to (city), he said that..."
* "I play golf with a guy who is an investment banker and they're working on..."
* "Taxiing past the jet base (large hangar in ATL), I saw a (airplane not in a Southernjet livery) in the paintshop, I'm telling you, we've just picked up our first (aircraft type)"

As long as they are quick to realign under-performing markets they should do well. ExpressJet has an excellent product. Now they need to figure out how to get more people to may a little more for it.

Yes let's be clear. You can lump Phoenix and its suburbs together for referencing your location to an outsider. However when dealing with someone from the valley, saying you live in Phoenix is not allowed. No one lives in South Phoenix, they live in Ahwatukee. The nicer end of North Phoenix, Desert Ridge.

*cough* it's the "Phoenix/Scottsdale Sky Harbor International Airport"!

(I'm actually 90% kidding)

A little non-sequitor "Betchya didn't realize this"...

In the summer when people ask where I commute from, they respond with "My gosh, how DO you handle it!?"

In the winter, people respond with "Oh, nice! I bet you love it!"

Same city, you know?

Ya, I can tell. Obviously your cash goes into your home rather than your computer (reference your avvy).

I live in the new area of lovely Desert Ridge. It's the new hotness.
