Great thread guys. I was at the Embry Riddle career expo today was doing the normal networking.....going around to all of the regionals, talking and giving my resumes out. I came up to one of the pilots / recruiters at this particular regional and over heard them saying that graduates that went through or have been through a CRJ transition / bridge program course would get a interview as long they had all of the ratings. So, I went to another regional and though my time is low (about to finish CFI soon), they handed me a list of places where I could do a 1 to 2 week CRJ / ERJ sim program and get a interview....and would be somewhat preferred. These programs are expensive and I'm pretty sure this is the same as PFT. Would you consider doing one of these programs in the same category as GIA...PFT and such? Just to be clear....I have no intention of doing any of these programs, just want to know if that is the same as paying for a job. Jesse

It is not the same as going to Gulfstream or something like that. It will probably make you more marketable to some regionals. It will most likely not make training any easier. It probably is a waste of money to do. It will not make you any better of an RJ pilot when you get on the line. So, you can see which is opinion and which is fact. Actually, it's all opinion, but you see what I mean. |
