Nah, but it sure would be nice to put 3.95 GPA on your employment app instead of nothing at all. (You probably wouldn't put a GPA if it is low.)

I haven't put my GPA on a resume since I was applying at...well...wait, I never did put my GPA on a resume. Three part 135 checks and a part 121 check speak a little bit more than how I did in my "Philosophy of Public Policy" course.

I disagree.

When I did hiring at a regional as a representative of the company's training department, I had to make a decision how likely it was for the applicant to successfully complete a rigorous training program. While industry experience trumped college grades...I also used grades to determine the applicant's aptitude for training.

If an applicant had good grades, some experience, a good interview and a bad sim ride...I'm likely to overlook some part of the sim ride.

Bad grades, no experience, mediocre interview and a mediocre sim ride....I've got nothing to suggest to me that the applicant has the aptitude to successfully complete training.

Grades are more important than you think.

I have some thoughts on the flight colleges, but I'll have to post later as I don't have time to put my thoughts together right now.

Grades all in all are important...

Just as an education. However, I really dont think you should put a GPA on a resume if it is bad!!!

You should if it's good though

I don't have any experience with aviation resume writing, I just know that sometimes its good to have on there when applying somewheres. You don't have to I suppose, but it might be an added plus!

Maybe not if you finish college or high school with a 2 or worse 1 point something!

Its common sense to put it on if you have a 3.3 and higher.

Anyway....

Oh come on man, I think we've given you enough information on both sides of the issue to form an opinion for yourself.

Using the information presented and judging by the sentiment of a majority of the thread, what do YOU think? Is a flight college worth the money?

Jeeze...

Sorry Doug, Did I tick you off lately? Please tell me if I did so we can work it out! I just wanted to get back on topic and it sounded and I guess you took it wrong when I said "it's common sense..."

I think I need a little more info. before I can make a proper decision!

Sorry!

What he's saying is it's unnecessary to try and steer this thread back on topic after 80 + posts. Threads just peter and and die, bro - that's just the way it is.

Plus you have more than enough user opinion in this thread to get you started - nevermind countless other identical threads on this site. Have you searched for similar threads on JC? There're tons of them.

What are you talking about? (not in a sassy way) I think it was up the whole time! Maybe you're mistaken with my other forum where I posted something just to get the forum started again (pilot differences).

You are right on this one! I should look elsewhere... much more info!

Nah, I'm not ticked at all.

Just after 1300 views, and 80 replies, I think that's sufficient enough to indicate that "there's your answer!"
