| Here are a couple of pictures of my bird strike (previously posted) a few weeks back. The 152 is up and flying again with a new windshield and plastic trim pieces and I have a new respect for what a bird can do to you in the air.

| Senior Member | Dang! Was anyone in the right seat? I imagine the pilot's seat cushion was a total writeoff as well. We hit one at 10,500 feet on the downwind into ATL the otherday... Musta been one heck of a bird to be up at that altitude.

| Yes, I was in the right seat and student was flying on base leg. And yes, the cushion was a writeoff. Its kind of hard to see, but I got a cut on the chin from a piece of plexiglass and the bird hit me on the forehead, which gave me a nice shiner.

| Senior Member | Wow....I'm glad that you are ok. It makes me nervous flying near birds because I know this sort of thing can happen. They don't always "tuck and dive" like they are supposed to, or just can't get out of the way in time....scary stuff......

| Old Skool | Wow. that is something that if I never have to see, I'll be thankful. BHB does have a bird problem though, so it could happen. Had a netjets excel eat a gull into the engine last week. Sea gulls = rats with wings
