Default Skywest

I have a couple questions to any Skywest Pilots out there.
Is it possible to commute to SLC, from say COD, there is a sky west route Flight going COD-SLC every day. Do pilots do this? or is it pretty much all Skywest pilots are living in SLC?

Another thing, With ALLATP's guaranteed Interviews LOA with Skywest to ACPP's, Has many ATP'ers found this to be successful? most of my fellow students who were going to go to SkyWest ended up going to other airlines like Express Jet. Is there any reason that their not getting on with SkyWest? besides higher time requirements

Thanks

Ben

Three daily flights from COD-SLC on SkyWest Brasilias. Next week's loads look pretty good, but I don't know what they're usually like.

I won't comment on the letter of agreement for the interviews itself, beyond stating that I think they're $^!+. However I do know that the interviewers cut no slack for anyone and ExpressJet's inteview (as an example) is easier. Not to mention the lower time requirement.

From what I understand the LOA with SkyWest is for an interview once you meet our required minimum flight hours. You should check with Jacksonville to be sure. We do not reduce our minimum flight hours requirement for any pilot group other than that of other airlines. We do reduce our minimums to 850 TT for people with 121 jet experience. The other companies will hire with less time as mentioned above.

The LOA with ATP instructors is 850 hours, My question is; Do you know anyone that actually got hired on with them with the LOA? Or is it one of them deals that they will give them an interview, but not the job.

Can't tell you much about the interview stats for ATP guys or how many have made it in here with the 800 hour thing. We do have pilots who have gone through their programs. I don't believe there is any "anti" ATP bias if that's what you are wondering.

As for the Cody Wyoming thing, I've been doing that flight for nearly three years, and as Ralgala mentioned there are three flights a day during the summer months and I believe it goes down to two during the winter months. Many Salt Lake pilots commute to various places around the West. (There are pilots in all of our bases who commute.) I occasionally see guys from other airlines jumpseating on the Cody flight. I suspect we have at least a couple of guys who live in that neck of the woods.

I would not say that. If you get the interview you have a shot at the job, regardless of total time. Obviously there are plenty of things you can do to ruin your chances during the interview. Sometimes guys with previoius jet time and 121 experience don't make the cut while guys with mins do.
