| If you lived in BNA where would you go? 39 yrs old 1240TT with 470me. I like the idea of ATL as a base is that crazy? ASA only has one so that would be good for me where as AE has a bunch and I might get sent to the rock one day and I'm not down for that. Any thoughts? Thanks |

| Old Skool | How's AE's upgrade time right now? Still >5 years? If I was 39, I'd be wanting to get that TPIC time ASAP. Hell, I'm 23, and I can't wait to get that TPIC to move on. Look at upgrade times. Or, unless you really like AE. . .knock yourself out. You may enjoy it. |

| ASA pilots don't seem to be very happy right now. AE doesn't seem too bad. You probably will end up somewhere you don't want to be, but I know guys that are getting 90+ hrs/month.

| If it were me I'd go with the easier commute.

I live in Nashville, used to work for Eagle, and work for Skywest now. It's a decision that has worked out really well for me, and the commute has been pretty easy. This last month I had 19 days off (4 displaced for IOE), 93hrs of credit, and I had a commutable schedule where I spent only 2 nights in a hotel in ORD. The commute hasn't been bad, but there's enough BNA-ORD commuters that I'm much safer taking one of the three Skywest flights than trying to get on another airline. Eagle would present a little problem because most of their flights are ERJ's, which are worthless for jumpseating. I've had to go to MDW on Southwest as well, as it doesn't get as clogged up as ORD. Let me know if you have any specific questions about either company.

How long in Nashville? Did you go to MTSU too? I got through in 92. with a BS in Aerospace. Are you voting for the union? What are your thoughts on that?

| Why is the ERJ worthless for jumpseating? |

| Old Skool | Weight Restrictions, which happens a lot on the CRJ/ERJ

| Depends on what model of the ERJ. We have weight increases at XJT that have really eliminated weight restrictions from consideration. Not to say we don't get weight restricted, but not as often as some other carriers. It is nice flying on the branded side, because all our jets have dual FMS and new weights. We have a lot of options when it comes to weight and balance and performance.

I've had the fun of alternate fuel requirements pushing the CRJ-200 overweight for landing, but I have been "lucky" enough to get on an E-145 jumpseat. At least I had flown with the captain before! Give us a call if you end up in KIND again... I've found some nice joints to enjoy above average food and suds nearby, you can even watch people drag props on the bottom from the marina bar! If you like that sorta thing... DUAL FMS is nice!

I'll definitely keep that in mind about IND! It would be great to hang with you guys again. Will you two be making it to Vegas? If so, bring the underpants gnomes DVD. ![]()

| Senior Member | Can you expand on this? So you don't actually get to choose the location you are based at when you start your job as a pilot with AE?
