ok- now that my posts have been merged, all those who wanted to respond but were holding off until now... please do....

do you think Horizon at PVD is the only game in the region? i got my multi from Action-Multi in Groton, and no, they don't rent out the Senecas -

so - again, anyone in the same boat as me- need to build multi time? let's brainstorm, please.....

Nobody I know of in the NE will rent twins. Unless things have changed in the last 2 years, anyways...good luck. Maybe you could travel and build time with somebody in another part of the US (read: the normal US), spend a week or two travelling, and both get some time knocked out...just a suggestion.

Good luck and let us know what airline you end up with...

East Coast Aero Club in Bedford (BED) and Nashua (ASH) rents seminoles. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find another pilot to split time with or you can just rent them solo. BTW it's not really a "club" as the name would imply, i.e. no dues, etc.

OK, first things first, Horizon is very expensive and they really dont want time builders. Amity Flight School in Worcester, MA has a Duchess and if you pair up with someone else you can split the cost from 180.00/hr to 90/hr. instructor rides with you. They have the best prices around in the northeast, period. Action Multi ratings dont do time building either! There are peoplel always calling, asking to pair up and build multi time at Amity. Horizon wants $60,000.00 min renters insurance policy and like I said, your gonna pay out the a$$!

Rent them solo? I seriously doubt that. Maybe after 25 hours in type, maybe. No insurance co will let someone walk off the street and rent it solo, no way in hell.

"split the cost from 180.00/hr to 90/hr. instructor rides with you."

How does that work? Does the instructor pay the other 90/hr, or does he ride in the back?

Try my old flight school Ari-Ben Aviator, they're always pretty cheap and they specialize in this sort of thing.

I second that recommendation for East Coast Aero. I did 20-30hrs in one of their Seminoles at KBED a few years ago. I don't know what the rates are now, but at the time it was very affordable for a twin. Nice operation.

Im looking to do the same thing up here in MA, East coast is good, they want you to have 10 hours make and model for the seminole, or you pay the mei for 10 hours and you putt around before they let you rent it. They are great people its about 220 an hour...shoot me a pm if anyone is looking to build time.

If anyone needs an MEI, I'm around the southcoast of MA, and have about 125 HRS of siminole time, so if you need a safety pilot or need an MEI just let me know.
