Default Williams Gateway Airport in Phoenix?

Does anyone know if there are any FBO-type flight schools at this airport? I am potentially moving to Phoenix very soon and am looking for a place to begin my instrument training. I am also looking for someone who has a spare room to rent, and in my search, I have found a lot of people that live closer to Williams Gateway than Falcon Field.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

When I lived in Phoenix I don't remember any at Gateway. Your best bet may be at Falcon Field.

ATP has a pretty big facility at IWA.

When I did my cross countries there I remember seeing a few FBOs. You should be able to find one easily.

As far as i know there aren't any FBO operations out of IWA. ATP/MAPD/UND and Figher Combat USA are the only operations.

For FBO type stuff Falcon or Chandler will be the closest airports.

Any chance that ATP might also be getting the boot eventually!?

Then yea, I really don't know where y'all are out there then.

Normally I would have just looked for "the cactus" .

But unsure now.

The earlist it could be would be SAT. Working 10 hrs. straight (at night) getting home at 5:30am it's impossible (for me) to be up before 1pm.

So it will have to be this coming SAT or any other SAT. So call me later or PM me how this coming SAT works for you. Really want ta come out.

Isn't there a kinda brownish building across the way from you? I always thought that was the RAA building. Or is that MAPD?

Gateway Aviation Services does not offer flight training. There are FBOs at Falcon, Chandler, Scottsdale and Glendale that offer flight training.

Call Falcon Executive Aviation at FFZ. (480)-832-0704.

Talked to them an hour ago about scheduling my BFR. Seems like they're a good FBO!

Hah. IWA is going to be one of ATPs biggest locations soon. With the RJ sim, a few D-Jets and a full MX base. Its one of the bigger and nicer locations ATP has.

Im surprised no one offers FBO type flight training out there. When I was there for my XCs there seemed to be so much going on, I just assumed someone offered it.

Thanks for the great feedback as always gang! I'll take a look at Chandler Air Service. Anyone have any experience with them? Good? Bad? Normal? Overpriced?

Also, anyone recommend any schools in the Scottsdale area? I am trying to stay in the East Valley, so just want to have some schools for whichever area I end up living in.

Thanks!

Not to sound like a broken record by I would try FFZ first. Falcon executive is a good place to start.

No question that it is good, but I am trying to look at all my options because I am not sure where I will end up renting a room. I've looked at FFZ, looks great, but trying to find info on other places now so that I will be prepared in all situations .

Thanks.

I haven't heard any good things about Chandler Air Service. They're on the cheaper side, and that's because their planes are super old, and I've heard the maintenance isn't that great. But, that's just what I've heard from some people, who may or may not have any credibility.

Falcon exec is decent; I knew a couple guys who instructed there and thats where I rented planes from... not a bad place. AngelAir at Stellar is also really nice, but since their planes are so new they tend to be a bit more expensive.
