| Junior Member | Anyone know much about them? Are they scabs? Seem to be expanding pretty well with no direct competition because of the smaller markets. Almost strikes me as a Valu-Jet of the here and now (not dissing the airtran people here...just saying when it was valu-jet they had a few problems, great turnaround after the airtran buyout). Seems like it would be a pretty sweet buyout target...or is this the future of aviation as we know it with the paying for an assigned seat ![]() |

| I don't know much about their company structure but they were great to fly with from PSC-LAS

| Old Skool | Why would you say scabs? |

| Old Skool | No, they are not a scab pilot group. Albeit, I wouldn't be surprised if one or two have slipped in somehow. |

| Old Skool | I met an Allegiant pilot and he seemed very happy to be there. I believe he came from Skywest, cant recall but I know he came from an RJ. They are doing well with full loads daily into LAS from the smaller cities like Boise. They like to have all their jets parked at the end of the night back in LAS. Not many layovers at all for the pilots which is great if they live in Vegas and have families. They are suppose to be hiring soon as they add more destinations.

| Junior Member | yeah post back if you can. I would love to know how they treat their employees. I know at CHA the airport actually provides the employees on the ground, and at check in - they share one of the AA gates. Its a very interesting minimalist structure...betcha a dollar AA does the maintenance on those mad dogs in Tulsa. |

| My ex-roomate just got a job with Allegiant. I'm pretty sure that he's not a scab. |

I didn't even think about them cutting down on layovers. They turn that mad dog in about 25 minutes also...pretty incredible. As in, while waiting on my flight on widget I watched the people get off, the plane was loaded, fueled and taxiing out before the arrivals had their luggage. not half bad. | |

| Old Skool | Here is a little more info http://airlinepilotcentral.com/airli...allegiant.html Only 197 pilots right now. It looks like they are hiring right now.

| Old Skool | Allegiant has said they won't open routes that directly compete with US and WN. So I'm not so sure you will see an IWA-LAS flight. Although it makes sense if for nothing other than aircraft positioning. |

| Old Skool | Oh, well. Was maybe gon' hold out for them as my charriot to LAS in Oct. but guess I'll go SWA then. |

| Old Skool | I picked em for my flight to LAS. 1) can't beat Direct flights 2) great flight times and 3) competitive prices it did annoy me that you have to pay $4 to check a bag, $11 to reserve a seat of your choice, etc.

| Senior Member | We sometimes refer to them as the Colgan Flow-through. I think something like 4 or 5 of our pilots in the last year went there. They seem to be happy, it has a quick upgrade. It seems like yet another stepping stone to me though. I don't like that you have to pay for your room in training.
