Death's Headset.

OK. This is all really SeatClutcher's fault. Really. One time, like, a million posts ago somewhere, I put up a crappy picture of myself in a Cessna wearing my Sigtronics S-40's. They look like this:

She says, oh-so-sweetly, "Nice pic Jim, and what a pretty blue headset!. (!!!) Ohhhh, I was hacked. I think I even smiled sweet venom, and spat it all over my monitor. (I'm just kiddin' ya KJ. It was a bit too pretty. And that pic of me totally sucked ass.)

Fast forward several months. I'm getting tired of using the standard company David Clarks that are in every plane (it's like using some one elses tootbrush. Blechh.), so I bring in my old Siggies. I figure, "Hey! Why not? They're lighter then the Davey C's, have better noise attenuation, and sound good besides. Who cares if they're old, blue, and covered in safety wire, zip-ties and shrink wrap? Screw it! I'm wearin' em!" So I did. And what do you suppose the first thing the Captain whose line I pulled this month said when I put them on??

"Man. Those things are blue!"

AAAAAHHHHHRRRRGHHHHH!!!!!

"OK", says I, "That's it. I'm going home and painting these things flat black with frickin' silver skulls on 'em." And we shared a good laugh. Ha, ha, ha. Oh, who would be silly enough to show up to the RJ with a Jolly Rogers Headset? Ha, ha, ha.

Yeah. Check this sh't out:

Just pulled the masking tape off the skulls, was blown away how good they look:

Here I added teeth and detail to the bones with a million-zero brush:

Sprayed on a couple of coats of acrylic topcoat, buttoned it all back up, and here she is:

Talk now, bitches!!!

First guy to make a "Pilots of the Carribbean" joke gets a tomahawk to the forehead.

I applaud your creativity! Though, I personally wouldn't wear a skull and crossbones headset. I'd paint mine pink

I'll send ya my DCs once I get them back from my dad. Might be a while though, he's taken a liking to them and has kept "forgetting" to repair his SoftComms (or whatever pinching gray POS he has).........

I hate them too. They pinch something fierce. Before I got my DCs, I would go without a headset rather than wear his spare softcomms.

I had a pair and then after the third time they needed to be repaired in 2 months, I got a refund and bought some DC's

A lot of them paint their face masks even though doing so technically makes them non-certified.
