Default Furloughs at the Cargo Level?

I hear a lot about furloughs at the majors but I haven't heard anything about UPS and Fedex etc. Do they get it as bad as the airlines or is the demand pretty steady for them because people always need packages?

those airlines arent furloughing but there are many other cargo haulers that have furloughed. some on here have had that nightmare.

i think they may have stopped for the time being with accepting resumes. they have a large pool to fish from right now. there are other 121 companies out there that are jsut as good in my opinion.

UPS has profits of approx. $1 BILLION each QUARTER. Since 9-11, business has been great with explosive growth internationally, especially in Asia. UPS threatened a furlough during our last contract negotiations, but a unified effort by the IPA not to fly overtime or accept JA, forced the company to cancel the furlough as it was just a negotiating ploy and the IPA called the companies bluff. While nothing is for certain in the future, the fact is that UPS is an incredibly profitable and stable company with a long history (celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year) and is about a sure thing as there is in flying planes in a non-governmental capacity. A single container of express packages pays for the flight on a UPS aircraft, the rest if pure profit. You can do the math and figure out just how profitable the UPS Airline is.
